"I was so focused on reading the books in the actual Dark Series, that I accidentally overlooked this book at first. Now that I have caught up w/ the series, I couldn't resist coming back to it. As a fan of Feehan's Dark Series, I was intrigued by this book and pretty confident it would be a good read. For me, spin-offs or stand alone books are a hit or miss kind of things. However, once again Feehan creates another story w/ action, suspense, and romance that does the Dark Series proud. Although the H is not a true Carpathian, I loved how Feehan kept the themes and characteristics of the Carpathian world- although the domineering, controlling male thing still drives me crazy. I thought Nicoletta was a great match for Gio, and loved watching the love grow between them. I would def recommend this book to other fans of the Dark Series and/or fans of paranormal romance."

— Karen, 1/18/2014" Essentially a paranormal, historical romance, the Scarletti Curse should be read before you start the Dark or Carpathian series as it eventually ties into both series. Drama, tension, and architecture all play a part. "
— Kathy, 1/9/2014" Did not like the book, took to long to get the story. Her other books are much better. "

— Cheyenne, 12/3/2013" Though this sounds like a great title for a story about the Mob, this is set in Medieval Europe. Along the same paranormal, but decidedly more Gothic lines as her Dark series, SC is colorful, gripping, and sometimes hilarious. "
— Lesli, 9/14/2013" this book fell kind of flat compared to the others. still a good book but not as good as some of her other ones. "

— Dawn, 4/21/2012" This was a bit of a slow (not to mention kindda boring) read for me, which goes to show that this book wouldn't find its way to my reread-worthy book list even though it has Christine Feehan's name on it. "
