Strange, twisted carvings and hideous gargoyles adorn the palazzo of the great Scarletti family. But a more fearful secret lurks within its storm-tossed turrets. For every bride who enters its forbidding walls is doomed to leave in a casket.

Nicoletta knows all too well the curse that plagues the house of Scarletti. She has always believed her miraculous healing gifts would set her apart and that no man would ever command her. Then she gazes into the dark, mesmerizing eyes of Don Scarletti and she fears for her future—for it is Scarletti's ancient right to select a bride from among his people . . . and he has chosen her.

Compelled by duty, driven by burning, inescapable desire, Nicoletta surrenders to this powerful, hypnotic man, giving her body willingly into his keeping. But will the tormented don be her heart's destiny . . . or her soul's destruction?

" I was so focused on reading the books in the actual Dark Series, that I accidentally overlooked this book at first. Now that I have caught up w/ the series, I couldn't resist coming back to it. As a fan of Feehan's Dark Series, I was intrigued by this book and pretty confident it would be a good read. For me, spin-offs or stand alone books are a hit or miss kind of things. However, once again Feehan creates another story w/ action, suspense, and romance that does the Dark Series proud. Although the H is not a true Carpathian, I loved how Feehan kept the themes and characteristics of the Carpathian world- although the domineering, controlling male thing still drives me crazy. I thought Nicoletta was a great match for Gio, and loved watching the love grow between them. I would def recommend this book to other fans of the Dark Series and/or fans of paranormal romance. "

" Essentially a paranormal, historical romance, the Scarletti Curse should be read before you start the Dark or Carpathian series as it eventually ties into both series. Drama, tension, and architecture all play a part. "

" Though this sounds like a great title for a story about the Mob, this is set in Medieval Europe. Along the same paranormal, but decidedly more Gothic lines as her Dark series, SC is colorful, gripping, and sometimes hilarious. "
