"I LOVED this book! I devoured it! Couldn't put it down! I thought Feehan was exaggerating when she said she couldn't get Jacques out of her mind, and she fell in love with his character. I totally see why! I too fell for him and couldn't wait to see what would happen next. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have liked more of his memory to come back, especially that concerning Byron. I can't wait to read the next book the series!"

“Dark Desire is the terrific second installment in…Christine Feehan’s intriguing and complex Carpathian/vampire series.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)“Feehan has a knack for bringing vampiric Carpathians to vivid, virile life in her Dark Carpathian novels…Feehan handles both elements skillfully, drawing villains who are sufficiently threatening and creating a romance that feels both destined and believable.”
— Publishers Weekly" favorite in the series. One of her best. "
— Orlene, 2/9/2014" I loved the beginning of this book with Jacques being buried alive while surviving on the blood of rats. These Carpathians are no joke! Anyhow, the story line with Shea was good, especially how it evolved throughout the book. I love a romance with a twist and Christine delivered! "
— Yolanda, 2/4/2014" This was okay. There were parts that i liked and parts that i didn't like. The thing i liked was the concept and the romance of course and i liked the action too but what turned me off about this book was the women. Shea in particular. I'm all for a women being independent and want to do for herself but she did it to the point of annoyance. Everything Jacques wanted or needed or tried to get her to understand, there was always an argument and always defiance. ANNOYING! Really? Most things she argued about was stupid and unnecessary. Always stubborn and couldn't trust anything he said for nothing. Overall i didn't really care for the book but it wasn't to bad "
— Janina, 1/29/2014" Wonderful book a must read enjoy "
— Marti, 1/24/2014" Online library MP3 download to my cellphone. Book 2. This book is about Doctor Shea O'Halloran who is half Carpathian, but doesn't know it. And Jacques Dubrinsky (one of Mikail's brothers) who was buried alive for 7 years, who everyone thought was dead. Shea lost both parents, her mother to the abandonment of her lifemate, and Rand who turned vampire. As it turns out, Jacque was the victim of Rand's minions and it will be Jacque who has to rid the Carpathian's and humans of his evil in the end. "
— Cheryl, 1/6/2014" Typical Feehan, not A+ writing, but the story line is intriguing and I want to see what happens to the Carpathian society. The sexy pieces are OK but a little too long and repetitive. "
— Bridget, 1/6/2014" I started to read this one but it read so close to the first that I couldn't get through it. Now that I am deep into paranormal romances I might give it another shot. As luck would have it my Nook I bought has these books on it.Maybe someday I will get around to trying again. "
— Jennivie, 11/20/2013" Yummy brain junkfood for anyone who likes a dark and brooding romance novel. "

— Anna, 11/5/2013" Meh. A lot of repetition. Apparently, everyone's voice is "black velvet". "
— Dyanna, 10/8/2013" Plot needed to move a bit faster for me but othewise the plot was interesting enough and Jacques was really good "
— Brooke, 10/4/2013" love these stories. that being said, I'm tired of women being so strong and independent that they become stupid with it. it is okay for a woman to let some one care for them. why do authors insist on making characters that make ignorant decisions just to prove their intelligence? "
— Kimberly, 10/3/2013" This is my favorite book. I can read this over and over again and never stop. "

— Cherokee, 7/5/2013" I love all her books. "
— A, 6/22/2013" It was horrible how they tortured jacques so much that he was more beast than Carpathian and it made me cry because he terrified his lifemate so much. I'm glad they finally resoloved their differences. "
— Danielle, 4/7/2013" I enjoyed this book more than the first one. I found the story of Shea and Jacques to be very interesting and unique. I loved that we got more of a background into their history. "
— Mel, 1/4/2013" I just reread this book, I have always liked Jacques and Shea's story and found that I still liked it when I reread it. There is a nice mix of romance, humor and a touch of mystery. "
