"I liked the first Piper Donovan book, but I liked this one even more! Short chapters for each character's point-of-view, a good, fast-paced mystery, and kept me guessing! I love books that give you lots of suspects but don't give the "who" away so easily. I will continue reading this series!"

“She understands how to hang onto her audience. Her characters are the sorts with whom many readers identify.”
— USA Today“A multilayered plot filled with murder, a taste of jealousy, and a healthy dose of madness and mistaken identity is frosted liberally with a rich confection of humor and romantic suspense.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)“Clark fans will enjoy the short chapters, interconnected plotlines, and multiple points of view, all of which keep the pages turning.”
— Booklist" Once again, Piper Donovan, actress and cake baker, is chosen to prepare a wedding cake for an ill fated bride. Jillian is beautiful, engaged to a handsome doctor, and running her father's spa with great efficiency. But she has many enemies, and one has already made an attempt on her life. Piper's family in New Jersey (and her would-be beau, FBI agent Jack, in New York) are reluctant to let her go to California to bake the cake, but the warm weather and possible acting jobs beckon, and soon Piper is deeply enmeshed in the problems surrounding the wedding. Many short chapters from different points of view make this a fast, though choppy, read, but the characters didn't come alive for me. "
— Susan, 2/18/2014" This book was good, but not my favorite. Really engaging. I love how she does what Mary Higgins Clark does with the different chapters. Amazing writing and style. I didn't really like the guy from the spa...but I guess we don't really like all characters in any book, now do we? "
— Katelin, 2/7/2014" Really do not care for this new series - glad this was a library book :) "
— Cindy, 1/6/2014" I like Mary Jane Clark. Her short chapters and likeable characters make for a quick and fun read. I even enjoy the recipe at the end of the book. This is the second Piper Donovan book, however, there was no further character development. I feel that with each book, I should learn a little something more about the main characters. In this story the characters were flat. The Look of Love is quick read and enjoyable it its own way. "
— Kathy, 1/5/2014" A light, fun, mystery. This is a great summer read that doesn't cause you to think too much! "
— Shannon, 12/23/2013" I like Mary Jane Clark, and the book was a really quick read, but I was disappointed. It didn't have the charm of the first one, or the interaction between Piper and Jack. Piper pretty much didn't have much to do with the mystery at all. "
— Kristin, 11/29/2013" This was the second book in the Piper Donavan mysteries. I really enjoyed reading this book. It held my interest and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I loved the ending.I hope there will be another book in the series.. "
— Gail, 8/8/2013" This Piper Donovan novel takes place in an exclusive spa in LA. Piper is there to bake a wedding cake - her second ever. Same unusual characters, with interesting twists and turns. Overall, I enjoyed this story. "
— Dawn, 5/12/2013" Quick read - the one/two page chapters really worked for me. "
— Jane, 1/1/2013" I enjoyed reading this mystery. It didn't take long and was very light. Not as complicated as some other mysteries, but had a good twist "
— Julie, 11/7/2012" Couldn't put it down. Loved it!!!!! "
— Melonie, 8/10/2012" It was a good, unpredictable mystery. "
— Nancy, 3/5/2012" Really liked it...super fast read & entertaining. 2nd in the series. "
