New York Times bestselling author Mary Jane Clark turns up the heat in a drop-dead frightening novel about an idyllic beach community turned killer's hunting ground KEY News correspondent Diane Mayfield has to give up her vacation and bring her children and her sister to the New Jersey shore town of Ocean Grove to investigate a story. "Girls Who Cry Wolf" is the topic for the season premiere of "Hourglass," television's premiere news magazine show. Diane lands an exclusive interview with a troubled young woman whose tale of being abducted and held against her will for three terrifying days and nights had been disbelieved by the authorities. No sooner does Diane finish taping the interview, though, than a second victim turns up: this time bound, gagged, and dead. And as soon as the police think they've solved the case, a third victim is discovered. Already in the grip of a record heat wave, the small beach community is now wracked by fear and terror—there's a murderer on the loose. Diane and the police turn to the first victim for clues. But it may be too late to save Diane and her loved ones from the mortal danger that lurks in Ocean Grove. Full of twists, turns, and terrifyingly real danger, Dancing in the Dark is Mary Jane Clark's most suspenseful thriller yet.

"Wow this book was kind of amazing. It really emotionally effected me, although this may have to do with the fact that I am a dancer myself. I couldn't imagine being in Ditty's shoes. She is such a strong character & what she did was so brave. I empathized with her & her love for dance, I can't imagine not being allowed to dance when I love it so much! Definitely a great read, definitely left it's mark on me."

— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)“A first-rate suspense novel with fine characters and a great plot twist.
— Globe & Mail on Hide Yourself AwayKnows the ins and outs of a broadcast newsroom and she gives the setting plenty of verisimilitude. A nice mix of mystery and domestic drama.
— Booklist on Hide Yourself Away" So sad how Ditty's parents don't let her do ballet! She's got a real talent! "

— Stella, 11/18/2011" It's really a treatise on eating disorders rather than a mystery novel. It was okay for what it was. "
— Jesi, 4/4/2011" You will never guess who did it? "
— Janice, 12/30/2010" Good book, keeps you wanting to read all the way to the end. "

— Sandy, 8/31/2009" We listened to this one when the story seemed slightly more interesting than the scenery across middle America. It took five days.... because even cornfields have more going on. If I'd been reading instead of listening I would have stopped reading in the first few chapters. "
— Debbie, 8/27/2009" Thriller set in the very interesting town of Ocean Grove,NJ. Moves fast, good read. "
— Beth, 7/16/2009" A quick read. Anyone who likes Mary Higgins Clark's books will enjoy this one. Some might find it predictable. I, however, wasn't able to figure it out until the very end when all the pieces fell into place. "
— Anna-Liisa, 7/7/2009" Another good mystery. I am a new fan of this
author, and an established fan of Mary Higgins
Clark. Mary Jane spins an equally good tale. "
