Publisher Description

In his daring and chilling first novel, #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor draws us into a sinister labyrinth of political intrigue and international terrorism, serving up an explosive cocktail of unrelenting action as one man is pushed to the edge.

On the snow-covered slopes of Utah, the President of the United States has been kidnapped and his Secret Service detail massacred. Only one agent has survived—ex-Navy SEAL Scot Harvath. He doesn’t buy the official line that Middle Eastern terrorists are behind the attack and begins his own campaign to find the truth and exact revenge. But now, framed for murder by a sinister cabal, Harvath takes his fight to the towering mountains of Switzerland—and joins forces with beautiful Claudia Mueller of the Swiss Federal Attorney’s Office. Together they must brave the subzero temperatures and sheer heights of treacherous Mount Pilatus—where their only chance for survival lies inside the den of the most lethal team of professional killers the world has ever known…

"This is the first book of the series an a good one. Now I know what am I going to read from now on now that Robert Ludlum has passed away. Thor has written a decent thriller that kept me reading at fast pace. Bullets fly and everyone is under the shroud of a conspiracy. Long live to Kiefer Sutherland's 24! So If You are in need for a little action in your life this is the book to get. Much, much better than Cussler."

" I read this over a 2 week trip and it kept my interest the whole way through. At first i was worried it was another Vince Flynn type of book, but Thor's style is different and the story peaked my interest to find out what happened. Enjoyed the betrayal twist and the finger pointing and really appreciated the well deserved apologies at the end. Will definitely read more of his books. "

" Enjoyable 'suspense thriller' by Brad Thor. James Patterson style (easy read) but story has more substance. I love these CIA / FBI / Mossad 'treats' especially after reading about politics or the economy. Story drags towards the end however. "

" The second Brad Thor book I've picked up and The Lions of Lucerne didn't disappoint. Fast-paced action follows the main character Harvath through an interesting, if a bit far-fetched, plot. Not a lot of twists in this novel but it's a fun sprint from beginning to end. "
