" Adventurous fantasy - the adventure begins. . . "
-

" Though this book had some lulls in the storyline, Jordan kept the same grandiose epic feel of the series going. I think Lord of the Rings will forever be the greatest fantasy epic ever written, but this series is now second place in my personal opinion. It is quickly earning a special place in my literary heart. "

" This was good, but I liked book one better "
-

Brent | 1/15/2014
" This book was kind of lukewarm for me. Really just another step to getting to the end of the series. Basically, much of it was they loose the Horn of Valere (and Matt's knife) and spend the whole book trying to get it back after getting it back and loosing it again half way through the story. Once again things seem to just fall into place a little too perfectly for me, but maybe because that is just how the wheel weaves the pattern for everything to work out in the end for everyone:) "

" This book much like its processor was a strange and wonderful tale, while the charicters can be a tad flat at times the depth of the story makes up for it. This story dosent allow you to see who is in the right and who is in the wrong, or even who's who, until the battle is not only over but forgotten in the new battles build up, if then. You simply cannot say that even Rand is good, prophesy may meen something completely different than what you would like to think. "

" The plot thickens as Rand, Perrin, and Mat weave the lives and events around them into the pattern of time. The Great Hunt adds depth and complexity to everything in Robert Jordan's world and leaves you knowing that there are countless more enjoyable hours to spend with the series. "

" Wish I could give it 6 stars! To say I found it to be a "creative fantasy" might seem redundant, but it literally applies here. Compared to other books of its genre it is creative, innovative, and intricate! this might have to go on my "favorites" shelf. "

" Robert Jordan provides some truly epic scenes. "
-

" Pretty good. I almost gave up on WoT when I saw how long the series was. Glad I changed my mind. "
-

Katherine | 8/31/2013
" Fantasy good v. evil tale--the characters are more compelling than the story, but still worth reading. This is a series of over 10. For the time being, I'll continue to read the series. "

-

" The Wheel of Time keeps on turnin, turnin, turnin. I'm loving this re-read and how much I'd forgotten about how the story goes. Even when I recognize Fain and Domon, I am reading for the first time how they weave into the Pattern. "
-

Jean-Jacq | 9/19/2011
" Now this book deserved a full 5 stars. With its twists and surprises, The Great Hunt was unpredictable, captivating, and brilliant all at the same time! It kept me up reading well into the unholy hours of the night. Robert Jordan, well done :-) "
-

Joshua | 8/30/2011
" It was exciting to see all the pieces Jordan had painstakingly placed on the board explode into action for this sequel! Very fun read that even further sets the stage for more excitement. "

" The Wheel of Time saga continues, as Rand al-Thor and his band become embroiled in the hunt for a horn that can be used to raise the dead. Trapped between the dark forces that want him alive and a mystical power that could leave him dead, al-Thor continues his adventures. "
-

Kathi | 6/26/2011
" This was a much better book overall than book 1, I thought. More complex, more action, somewhat less repetition. "
-

Gary | 4/28/2011
" Well-written fantasy series. Reminiscent of Lord of the Rings (although not as intense yet). It is a long series, though. After finishing book 2, it may take me a while to get through the rest of the 14 (?) books in the series!
"

Claire | 4/26/2011
" I am biased I know beacuse I really enjoy the early books in this series, I do think it loses its way a little later on but for know its a quick page turner. Onwards, onwards to the next one!
"

" I enjoyed the first few Wheel of Time books when I read them, but it was years ago. I started to find the series tedious around the fourth or fifth book, and never finished it.
"
-

Niels | 4/11/2011
" It starts off a little slow, just like the first one. But when you get to the end, all the story lines get together which makes for an awesome ending.
"
-

John | 4/9/2011
" Just getting started. There is great intrigue swirling around the Keep at Fal Dara! (Add dramatic music here.)
"
-

Amber | 4/1/2011
" I'm really enjoying these books, although I just found out there are 17! Not sure if I can make it that far to find out what happens, but this a masterful plot. I am hooked. Be careful though, I'm pretty sure if you want to find out what happens you have to read all 17. Just as good as #1.
"

Melissa | 4/1/2011
" Same review as the first book. Excellent! I love Jordan's poetic writing. I wish I could write like him. It's so unique.
"
-

Kris | 3/31/2011
" Eye of the World was good, but The Great Hunt has taken the concepts introduced and further expanded the world. More mythology, more characters, more obscure fight scenes . . . Awesome read.
"
