"I thought this book was a very good version of the new testament. It was really easy to understand what they were saying. The only part I didn't like was that because it was written differently, it was sometimes hard to find the certain passage that I was looking for. But overall, I thought it was really good. I read it with my youth group this summer on our mission trip, and it was a great book, and I really enjoyed it."

— Bryan, 1/26/2014" Always have the need to understand the point more than memorize chapter and verse. This is the most relevant interpretation of God's Word if you want the jist of what to remember and retain. "
— Ron, 1/17/2014" For folks who want a very readable presentation of Bible, this is great. "
— Jeffrey, 1/9/2014" Best version of the Bible in contemporary language. Makes you discover the bible in a whole new way! "
— Tamara, 11/12/2013" Love the contemporary language - helped to me understand a lot that I hadn't before. This is my favorite bible to read on a regular basis. "
— Leslie, 11/4/2013" This translation is a offense to God. Eugene Peterson must be delusional to write something like this. "
— Rachel, 10/25/2013" I read this along side the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version). It is excellent! "
— Shawn, 10/24/2013" One of the best books I used at camp... "
— Alina, 10/5/2013" with a blurb from U2's Bono, this version of the Bible in modern language sings with beautiful prose. The Psalms are sublimely poetic. A favorite passage (Mark 11) talks about "the unforced rhythms of grace." I just love that. "
