"pretty much my whole life is based on this book. it is a very different bible compared to others using different word when explaining no thees or thous its kinda nice but if someone elses is reading from nkjv or niv i can't fallow along at all. one thing i didn't like was that you didn't know what verse was what. they were put together like (Romans 5:12-17"
— Stephen (5 out of 5 stars)
" One of the best ways to read the Bible. "
— Robert, 2/15/2014" Love going to this version of the Bible for another interpretation. I set it out as a goal to read through the Bible chronilogically a couple years ago and this is the version I read. "
— Sally, 2/9/2014" This is my favorite book in the world. I re-read it every year...different portions at time. But it is amazing. "
— Emily, 1/26/2014" This is the perfect Bible for those who've always wanted to read it, but were either intimidated by it or couldn't get past the language (especially the KJ version). Very readable, down-to-earth language that does a pretty good job of capturing the essence of the Bible. A great place to start. "
— Andy, 1/24/2014" I read through the Bible using the message. I read in on my Palm. "
— Alan, 1/22/2014" For folks who want a very readable presentation of Bible, this is great. "
— Jeffrey, 1/20/2014" Easiet way to read the bible cover to cover! "
— Gina, 1/16/2014" This is a great version - a paraphrase really, but it makes you think about many of the passages you are familiar with in a new light. Very, very good. "
— Danny, 1/15/2014" If you teach a class, get a copy. "
— Aim, 1/6/2014" great to have as a source for a different perspective and language for the biblical message. "
— Raquel, 1/1/2014" Have you ever longed to read the Bible but were put off by your memories of its language? This is your solution: an absolutely faithful translation in modern language. It almost makes Chronicles readable. "
— Mark, 12/26/2013" with a blurb from U2's Bono, this version of the Bible in modern language sings with beautiful prose. The Psalms are sublimely poetic. A favorite passage (Mark 11) talks about "the unforced rhythms of grace." I just love that. "
— Allison, 12/10/2013" Got this translation as a present and I love it, except for a few translations here and there that are just kind of whacky imho. "
— Karl, 12/9/2013" Enjoyable paraphrase of the Bible. Some areas are stronger than others - the Psalms tend to read like bad 60's poetry. But a great take on the Good Book. "
— Chris, 10/15/2013" It won't take the place of other Bibles, such as NLT or NIV but great for contemporary language! "
— Amy, 10/13/2013" The easiest translation to make the Bible come alive to our daily lives. "
— Asif, 9/28/2013" Buy "The Book" instead, which is a translation. This is a transliteration, and there are several passages in the New Testament that are misleading. "
— puppitypup, 5/10/2013" I read this one last year and I'll tell ya, I did not like some of the wording used. You could tell this author was very aged due to some of the ways he worded things and I just couldn't relate. "
— Beth, 11/12/2012" I was looking for a contemporary version of the Bible and this is what I came across....The Message is a wonderful, easy, beautiful way to experience the word of GOD. I would suggest this bible to anyone, and would definitely give it to young adults as a gift. "
— Nyeisha, 9/19/2012" Loving this edition--it goes down like water and reminds me God is PRESENT. "
— Kathie, 7/5/2012" Best books ever, read them. "
— Janice, 12/12/2011" Great for teens and new Christians. God is LOVE read his 66 book love letter to you. "
— Charles, 10/4/2011" This will forever be in my currently-reading list for as long as I live! lol! "
— Christian, 8/25/2011" This is taking me forever but I am enjoying it. Right now in Proverbs "
— Bill, 7/14/2011" I really enjoyed this paraphrase of the Bible. I would definitely recommend it, not as a substitution to reading a scholarly translation cover to cover, but as a devotional of sorts and to get fresh insight into familiar scripture passages. "
— Jen, 4/15/2011" I loved reading through the Bible in this version. It was so easy-to-read and accessible. It really comes alive in a fresh, new way. For those of you who haven't given The Message a try, I would recommend it. "
