Alec ached to touch her, to tame her, to possess her forever. But Jamie vowed never to surrender to this highland barbarian. " I enjoyed this book! I liked the characters, enjoyed the story line & it made me laugh out loud a few times. I think she could of spread it over a bit longer of a time period, for example the heroine has QUITE a day - multiple things happening to her that are important to the story - and it is described as ALL happening in one single day. Good book overall, I would read more from this author :) "

" it was really great! There was this schtick with Gillian and Brodick, where Brodick would forbid her from doing something, but Gillian would do it anyway. For once, I found the romance-novel schtick cute and amusing. I guess that is just one of Garwood’s many talents! "

" I love Julie Garwood's laird series. They were the first romances I ever read and they are always in my re-read pile. They are a lighter read, with witty dialogue. I guess I have a soft spot for my first romances... "

" I wanted to continue to read the Highlands' Laird series, and it didn't disappoint. I liked the first book better, but this was a fun fast read too. I haven't read much set in this time period and area before, (scotland/england 1100/1200's) and I like it. "
