From the number one New York Times bestselling coauthor of Judge & Jury and Lifeguard comes this electrifying solo debut, The Blue Zone.
Kate Raab's life seems almost perfect: her boyfriend, her job, her family . . . until her father runs into trouble with the law. His only recourse is to testify against his former accomplices in exchange for his family's placement in the Witness Protection Program. But one of them gets cold feet. In a flash, everything Kate can count on is gone.
Now, a year later, her worst fears have happened: Her father has disappeared—into what the WITSEC agency calls ""the blue zone""—and someone close to him is found brutally murdered. With her family under surveillance, the FBI untrustworthy, and her father's menacing ""friends"" circling with increasing intensity, Kate sets off to find her father—and uncover the secrets someone will kill to keep buried.

"A likable, smart female protagonist, excellent writing, lots of twists and turns, complex characters, betrayal, a terrific plot: All these and more made for a riveting, nearly unputdownable read. I've read two of this author's books so far, and will certainly read more. "
— Sheila (5 out of 5 stars)
" Decent thriller. Easy Read. It is a quick pick for reading on a flight. "
— T, 2/17/2014" First time reading this author. Definitely kept me reading till the end. Would recommend. "
— Thor, 2/13/2014" Very intriging. Kept my interest. Not you typical cops & robbers type book. "
— Ang, 2/11/2014" Interesting topic and good rythm. "
— Xisca, 1/30/2014" The extremely loose construction at the first of the novel made it hard to follow the storyline and keep the characters straight. I found the overly-dramatic word choices describing people's emotions and reactions a little distracting too. "
— Joan, 1/30/2014" a good story with plenty of twists in the plot but I didn't like the main female character at all "
— Arwen, 1/26/2014" Mystery action with enough twists to keep your interest "
— Wendroz, 1/21/2014" Decent beach read. "
— Christina, 1/18/2014" I liked this Gross novel, but not as much as the Ty Hauck novels. This one doesxn't have a sequel (at least not yet). "
— Hugh, 1/7/2014" If you are a James Patterson fan you will like this book. It is a very quick read and held my interest "
— Andrea, 12/16/2013" LOVED this book. One of the most exciting, interesting, and well-written suspense novels I've read in a long time. I'll definitely be looking for more from this author. "
— Emily, 12/11/2013" If this author sounds familiar, it's most likely because he has co-authored several James Patterson books. So...if you enjoy James Patterson you should give this book a shot. I'm looking forward to his next one, just out. Haven't been able to get my hands on it yet! "
— Nicole, 12/6/2013" A real thriller. I learned a lot about the Witness Protection Program, "

— Caitlin, 1/20/2013" Terrible. Poorly written and pretentious. Avoid this one. "
— Connor, 1/10/2013" I LOVE this author. He's brilliant. I can't wait for him to come out with more books. "
— charlene, 8/11/2012" The writer's style of writing annoyed me at times. The main character was often whiny and annoying. However the plot does have a nice twist. "
— Janet, 4/23/2012" I listened to this - it was a fun read - the main character's blind loyalty to her "daddy" seemed somewhat unrealistic and that drove most of the plot. But - this is still a good mystery with lots of twists and turns. "
— Jayne, 4/19/2012" Great Book! Kept me riveted! "
— Joanne, 1/24/2012" I read this as a Reader's Digest Condensed Book. It was a very fast paced, adventure that was pretty exciting, but not really my taste in books. "
— Dorine, 1/8/2012" Good, just a slow read. Liked the 2-3 page chapters "
— Denise, 9/29/2011" Good Story line but found the book a bit confusing. "
— Kristin, 8/18/2011" I really liked this book! Very James Patterson. Enjoyed driving and listening "
— Lyndsie, 6/22/2011" Repetitive in spots and sometimes a bit stilted, but for the most part, enjoyable. How can you not be excited when you don't really know whom, if anyone, you can trust? I thought he did a good job going solo. "
— Kw, 6/12/2011" This was a very quick read. There were a lot of "half-revelations" where it wasn't suspenseful so much as confusing, and that definitely detracted from my enjoyment, but I liked it more as we moved toward the end and the pieces started falling into place. Overall, good but not great. "
— Charleen, 5/23/2011" I found this read to be somewhat dull in the sense of narrator style, however it was saved by a nice twist (or 3) in its latter stages. would make a good Hollywood film if it isn't already "
— Giwi, 5/20/2011" fast moving book , hard to put down - loved it! "
— The, 5/15/2011" Audio Book. I wasn't that impressed. Witness protection from the drug cartels, and the dad who went into the witness protection was the bad guy. "
— Jake, 5/6/2011" This thriller is deeply calculated. I couldn't stop thinking about the plot lines and connections; it's so rich. Of all the books I've ever read, I think it's the most natural movie script I've ever seen. Brilliantly evocative and touching ... "
— Matt, 4/28/2011" Very Good; plot twists and keeps interest! "
— Diane, 4/21/2011" Not normally my cup of tea, bit I loved it. "
— Beanbox, 4/6/2011" I did enjoy this book - always exciting, characters you could connect with and worry about - a couple unexpected turns in the plot - overall a great book. "
— Stacey, 4/3/2011" Very enjoyable, interesting, easy read. Nice brain palate cleanser, which is the mood I'm in right about now. "
— Amy, 3/26/2011" Andrew Gross write with James Patterson. I can see some of James Patterson influences in this book, but with a different twist. The main character, Kate Raab's discovered that the life she thought she had is not. How did this happened? "
— Jackie, 3/17/2011" well.. you can call it a thriller.. but i just find it so stupid that the story was just all about the father's identtity. "
— Jan, 3/2/2011" Better than I first expected. Predictable ending but a good book just the same "
— Fiona, 3/1/2011" Recomendo, quem pega nele não o larga até ao final! "
