" Um...I feel sort of like a jerk doing this. But I have to warn people. I wish someone had warned me. Clive Cussler is CHEESE BALL. His characters, at least the "hero" of his story in this case, are so incredibly beyond believable. They go through days on end of brutal conflicts against man and nature, never sleep a wink, and still come out on top, beating down the bad guy with a whole lot of self-righteous oratory. I get it. You are supposed to suspend your disbelief when you are reading fiction, but this goes beyond the bounds of all reason. And I really don't need Cussler's lecture on moral behavior at the end (don't you just hate it when authors stick their noses into books in an obvious and self-serving manner). I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't just put the book down when I realized how over the top it was. I won't, however, make the mistake of picking up a Cussler novel again. "
