"I wanted to read a Jodi Picoult book, because of all of the hype about My Sister's Keeper. Since I am not generally a fan of sad books though, I thought that I would try her book, Second Glance, instead. This book was a ghost, mystery, love story. It was very multi-layered and to be honest, I probably need to read it again to catch everything I missed, but it did keep my attention. During the book, it dealt with some heavy issues, such as depression, suicide and death, but overall it was a good read."

“In Second Glance, love does travel through time. You don't have to believe in ghosts to acknowledge the path it takes as it works its way from parents, to grandparents, to great grandparents, ancestors passing on genes and the protection of their love.”
— Washington Post“A spellbinding suspense novel offering insight into the human spirit and the depths of true love.”
— Publishers Weekly“Bestselling author Picoult mixes shocking fact and compelling fiction to produce a mesmerizing tale of love and second chances.”
— Booklist“Second Glance is an intricate and suspenseful ghost story that enchants and illuminates all the way to its powerful conclusion.”

— Kirkus Reviews" The first novel I've read by her & I was completely engulfed by it from start to finish! Couldn't put it down "
— Beth, 2/15/2014" One of the best books I have read by this author. As usual some parts where weird but still loved it! "
— +, 2/8/2014" What an eyeopener into American white supremacy in the 1920s and 30s. I find some of her books irritating but this one held my interest right to the end. In saying that, it hadn't grabbed me by the first 50 pages, and I nearly put it down, but decided to give it a few more pages. I'm glad I did. "
— Naomi, 2/1/2014" I am now hooked on this author and must consume Picoult's other novels. This was such an engaging, fast-paced, well developed, and fun story. The various points of views made it refreshing and it was a interesting to learn about ghosts, Native American traits, and eugenics. Even her sex scenes were done tastefully, and felt realistic versus just being there for the sake of it. "
— The, 1/23/2014" This is the second Picoult book I have put down. (haha and it's called second glance...nevermind). There were too many characters to follow. I had to keep looking back at previous chapters to see who was who. If you could sit all day and just read it straight through it would be easy haha Bummer. "
— Heather, 1/21/2014" This is the kind of book that I could easily put down - when I had more than 15 minutes to read, i did enjoy it, but it was a struggle when i didn't have much time to devote to it. Great book if you're stuck in an airport, or on a plane... "
— Joanne, 1/18/2014" This is my favorite Jodi Picoult so far. I loved it until the very last minute when it just went a smidge too far, even for a ghost story. But I really loved the rest of the story! "
— Sarah, 1/15/2014" Not too bad. After reading nearly all her books, there's definitely a formula but I still enjoyed this book. "
— Sasha, 1/14/2014" I really enjoyed this book. It was off the wall, but that's what I like. It is a ghost story, but not scary, with a past history that is compelling. It is also a mystery. The characters are believable, warm and real. One can feel a deep empathy with them. Great book. "
— Patti, 1/13/2014" My least favorite of her books. I didn't even finish it. "
— Amy, 12/25/2013" Second Glance took me longer to get into than most Jodi Picoult books do, but I think it had a better ending than the others that I have read. Worth reading. "
— Kristin, 12/24/2013" It reminds me of an Alice Hoffman novel, kind of mystical maybe. "
— Mary, 12/10/2013" This was a great book. I have read several of her books, but this one was different. It had a lot of twist and turns. It took a long time for the book to end, but everything was resolved. "
— LeAnn, 11/20/2013" Difficult to get into but better near the end "
— Gillian, 11/10/2013" Totally loved this book! Didn't want it to end! "
— Diane, 11/4/2013" It was a very insteresting book but I didnt like how it changed to someones life to another, it got kinda confusing at first, it took me awhile to get when the settings changed. "
— Abigail, 7/18/2013" Wow!! Best book I have ever read. Amazing!! The beginning is a bit difficult because there are so many characters happening, but after a bit it all comes together and it's well worth it. How she could weave this story, just amazes me! "
— Lindasueanne, 4/3/2013" I've read this Jodi Picoult gem 3 times and I'm going to read it at least 3 more times! "
— Erikah75, 3/1/2013" Wow, They never taught that stuff in history class! I think I need to read it again somtime soon. "
— Amy, 1/10/2013" Not usually one for 'ghost' books, but neither is my dad who recommended this one to me. sometimes i thought that part was a but much, but i liked the characters and the 'twist ending' - although i had figured out many of the surprise connections earlier on. "
— Becca, 12/7/2012" Excellent characters that intertwine magically "
— Debbie, 11/26/2012" This was not my favorite but it was a good read. It was not like her typical books which I didn't like. However it had a good story line. It did keep me interested. Just the difference in writing through me off. "
— Brittany, 10/4/2012" Very complex plot and characters. Fun to predict what happens next. "

— Lauren, 5/17/2011" This was a bit different from most of her books. it jumped through time a lot and was a little odd. But still a very good book. "
— Raven, 5/8/2011" I rather liked this book, it was hard to but down once I got started reading it. Interesting storyline that really pulls you in and makes you wonder. The characters seem so real that you do care about what becomes of them forgetting that they are a work of fiction. "
— DuctTapeDiva, 5/2/2011" This is the first Picoult book I've read that didn't have a crappy ending..... Usually the sad twists she throws in at the end put me off her books for a while. "
— Samone, 4/20/2011" I absolutely loved the way Jodi Picoult makes the characters come to life. She also connects so many characters in a very believable way. This book was super interesting and flowed smoothly. "
— melody, 4/14/2011" One of my least favourite books by Jodi Picoult, just did not engage me quite like her other books. Still worth reading though. "
— Lisa, 4/14/2011" WONDERFUL book! Spent about 6 hours reading it cover to cover, couldn't put it down. "
— Meghan, 4/13/2011" Fab read! really gripping read, didnt want the book to finish! "
— Tracey, 4/11/2011" I found this one really hard to follow. It was like there were too many tracts within the story. Shocking considering how much I typically LOVE Jodi Picoult's books. "
— Rory, 4/4/2011" Not as good as her other novels. "
— Amy, 4/1/2011" "true love is like ghosts, which everybody talks about and few have seen."
~ Francois, Due de la Rochefoucauld, Maxim 76

Kept me glued until the end ... not a typical JP novel.. for those who shy away because she provokes such emotion .. really liked it!~ "
