"The pace of Matthew Reilly books is truly staggering and this was a fabulous and pacy return for Shane Schofield, aka Scarecrow, along with some of his old crew, 'Mother', and some astonishing new adversaries from the least expected of places........ Terrorists have taken over an old Russian military research station in the Arctic and only Scarecrow can save the world from the havoc they inend to wreak with what they find there. OK, so some bits are less 'credible' than other thriller writers, but this is supposed to be fiction, right? So I'm more than willing to allow a good deal of 'poetic license'. It's a rollercoaster ride than will have you in despair one moment and grinning manically the next, and you'll fall in love with Bertie....."

" Awesome book. Edge of my seat excitement. "
— Dewayne , 11/30/2017" Matthew Reilly books are like literary crack cocaine - a guilty pleasure that you'll always enjoy - but you'll never get back the rush of your first time - which in my case was Ice Station - probably the best action novel ever. I'm glad he's come back to Scarecrow as his hero, after a long gap for the Jack West books, and this was another fast paced exciting action thriller, but the plots are all very similar in format, and therefore a bit predictable now. I loved Bertie as the new addition though and hope we get to see him again. "
— Jo, 1/22/2014" Great read only two days to read, great scarecrow reading, plenty of action and intrigue. "
— Gary, 1/14/2014" I would say that this was another typical action/thriller with Scarecrow but it had some extra special "Come on, no way" moments. The book was entertaining but just a little too unbelievable. "
— Terri, 11/27/2013" I had great expectations for the latest Scarecrow and in all honestly I was disappointed after enjoying all previous novels. I enjoying the action but found the plot predictable and felt as if it had been written for a much younger audience. "
— Read, 11/22/2013" Another excellent adventure in the Shane Schofield series "
— David, 11/20/2013" Okay as an audio book, 3 stars in fact. In a book the detail of arms would be over the top for me. "
— Bryn, 11/18/2013" I really struggled to get into this during the first half but the second half improved greatly. Very in keeping with Matthew Reilly's style - action packed and highly unrealistic but you have to love scarecrow "
— Jennifer, 11/17/2013" I want my own Bertie ! "
— Teresa, 10/16/2013" The Ultimate Hero is BACK!! Oh yeah, typical Matthew Reilly novel with loads of action & entertainment & typical Scarecrow with his swashbuckling thriller rollercoaster. I'd say its a notch or two down compared to the last novel "Scarecrow" but by all means its an entertainer to the end. "
— Amit, 10/7/2013" Good action story with some unbelievable bits, but enjoyable nonetheless. "
— Mikemodelf, 7/8/2013" As soon as someone knows when this comes out in Australia - tell me please! "
— Gabrielle, 6/16/2013" Still not as good as Ice Station, but anything by Matthew Reilly is a blast! "
— Natalie, 5/22/2013" Excellent story with non-stop action. I have read all of Matthew Reilly's books and have thoroughly enjoyed every one. This book. Is no exception! Thank you Mr. Reilly for another highly entertaining book! "
— Michelle, 5/4/2013" Could not put it down "
— Kym, 4/2/2013" I finished it overnight. A high voltage, high decibel action entertainer. "
— Harish, 3/10/2013" I've run out of ways to describe Matthew Reilly's books other than simply: EPIC. "
— Teisha, 2/15/2013" - Feels like the story plot was less developed in this novel, a little predictable. + Quick easy reading, escapism, could put down and pick up easily. "
— Cassandra, 2/6/2013" I love this series so much. It really is like watching an action movie. I'm 60 or so pages in and I can't wait to get home to read more!! "
— Tiffany, 1/12/2013" Super fast as any scarecrow book should be but now getting a little predictable:-( "
— Gautam, 1/6/2013" My major complaint! Is with the excessive use! Of choppy sentences! Italics! And exclamation points! Being force-fed the emotions Reilly was trying to convey was a bit distracting. If it's well written, the emotion will come through without being told/hand-held. "
— Jason, 12/19/2012" Scarecrow and his team return in another gripping adventure. Mother is back, along with some new characters. Bertie the robot is just awesome. I read this book in a day - I hope Reilly keeps going and writes more Scarecrow novels. "
— Firedragon, 9/27/2012" Non stop action in this latest Scarecrow book. I particularly enjoyed the tower heist. "
— Karen, 9/21/2012" it's not a classic, it's not Dickens or Dostoyevsky but it IS the definition of Escapist Fucking Fun. 2 days to read, pretty much unputdownable. Still not quite as good as Temple but rollicking, rolling fireworks "
— Sandyboy, 6/12/2012" Such an amazing story.. Very addictive and full of action till the very last moment of the book. Also left opened for another scarecrow story which I do hope happens!!!! I love this book. "
