"I know that the Scarecrow books can be read as stand alone novels which is great, but if you read the first two(Icestation and Area 7) it is like a special reward as you read Scarecrow because you see previous characters pop up throughout the book and you can better understand their significance."
— Danielle (5 out of 5 stars)
Matt Reilly, the pedal-to-the-metal action novelist...can inspire awe. Speed demons, take note.
— Publishers Weekly on Area 7" Action packed Intense rollercoaster ride "
— Dewayne , 1/29/2018" INTENSE! Non-stop action, surprises around every corner, on the edge of my seat until the last word! One TINY little thing bugged me, Reilly uses the phrase "For his part..." or "For her part..." way too often, but that just a minor irritation amidst a great book. "
— Heather, 2/17/2014" Another riveting Matthew Reilly affair....although this one almost made me cry! Didn't think he was ballsy enough to kill off his hero's love interest, but he did. Violently. And then he almost had his hero commit suicide. Twice. Mind-blowing! "
— Teisha, 2/12/2014" I tried to read Scarecrow by Matthew Reilly, but I found the action a bit too unbelievable. Things like describing how thick and solid a table is, but the good guys can easily stab a knife through it while sliding along it towards a window to certain death. It doesn't matter how many bad guys there are, the good guys get away too easily. "
— Matt, 1/28/2014" Fast-paced ... emotional and nailbiting! Guys with dig it more coz of the OD'd action element ... but it was still a fun book to read ... !!! "
— Samra, 1/27/2014" My favorite one so far! "
— Allison, 1/22/2014" This was non-stop action cover to cover and alot of fun to read,a must for anyone who loves action/adventure books. "
— Bob, 1/11/2014" Action packed. Reminded me of aperils of pauline character "
— Daniel, 1/10/2014" Another great Scarecrow book. This one, like Ice Station, would make a great movie. There was one character who died that I was shocked to see. Reilly leaves no character safe. I really don't know how he slams so much action into a book and still maintains the suspension of disbelief. "
— Dan, 1/7/2014" Another great, one day read. "
— Richard, 12/27/2013" you can read it and forget it all in one day. fizzy pop for your head "
— Sandyboy, 12/8/2013" The third Schofield adventure, in which the marine who's handle is "Scarecrow", saves the world! Great manly fun... "
— Lee, 12/1/2013" #3 in the series I'm reading with the boys, loved it. "
— Lisa, 11/26/2013" I love the fast pace of this book and the continuation of the character Shane Schofield who reminds me of the main character John McClane out of the Die Hard movies. Some say it is too far fetched, but it is fiction after all! Love a writer who has an imagination. "
— Jenni, 11/9/2013" Far-fetched and improbable (like most of Matthew Reilly books) - perfect page turner for reading on commutes! "
— Brian, 8/18/2013" i love shane schofield. Entertaining...Fun...Timepass... "
— Roshendavis, 5/24/2013" awful, the most far fetched book i have ever read! "
— Gary, 5/13/2013" I still can't believe Gant dies. Really like the book even though some of it is a bit far fetched even for my imagination. "
— Kath, 2/4/2013" One of his best books with characters you won't easily forget (especially The Black Knight). High-tech thriller which is just too good to describe. Just buy the damned thing. You'll not regret it. "
— Marcus, 2/1/2013" Unfortunately, I did poor research and thought this was the first in the series instead of the third book. I must say I loved it and am now looking for the rest of the series so I can start from the beginning. Fast paced, in depth, and very cool. I particularly liked The Black Knight. "
— Stephen, 10/3/2012" Fast paced, but also far fetched, easy to read but totally unbelievable "
— Ken, 10/2/2012" whew!!!faster than speed of light.... "
— Sanjay, 8/8/2012" i thought that this book was excellent. only have one bad thing to say about it. FOX (A.K.A. knowns as dorothy and Elizabeth or Libby Gant) SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN KILLED OFF!!!!!!!!!! thats all "
— Millie, 2/22/2012" Great action/adventure read... It's incredibly over the top and not truly believable in any way but, that's what makes it such an enjoyable ride from start to finish. "
— Ian, 10/1/2011" Forget about realism. This book is an action video game in written form. Highly enjoyable and completely unbelievable. "
— John, 5/9/2011" so far so good, good story engrossing. "
— David, 5/3/2011" It has the best beginning that i have ever read but as you go along it just gets too melodramatic. "
— Abhishek, 4/4/2011" he's done it again saving the preident againest all odds brillant! 10/10 "
— Patrick, 3/28/2011" This is a good adventure story containing nonstop action. Certainly far from realistic but a good escape. "
— Debby, 3/12/2011" Fast paced action story... Tats is what it was!!!!!!!!!!

No time to think.. A few sci fi strewn here and there... Fast paced... Interesting Story line.. are the hall mark of Mathew Reilly that can be seen here too...

Overall a good read for all the action lovers... "
— Nagarajan.ra, 2/23/2011" Shane Schofield is at it again and I'm loving it so far! Again--nonstop action. Sometimes I find myself wanting a break in the actions so I can put it down for the night! A brainless action book that delivers as promised! "
— Stacey, 1/9/2011" A great action-adventure story. I really like Matthew Reilly's books and the way he writes. This was the second book in his Scarecrow series and it didn't dissappoint. It was a nice sequel to Ice Station, but could be read on it's own too. "
— Mason, 1/2/2011" dumb silly fun that is as forgetable as it is rollicking. rinses your brain out after a dostoyevsky "
— Sandyboy, 12/10/2010" if you're in the mood then you'll have fun "
— Sandyboy, 12/10/2010" well a real action book but too implausible to keep me really interested, finished it but it was not that interesting..... "
— Thomas, 10/13/2010" Fast paced. If it were a movie, then I would probably watch it. "
— Kristy, 10/11/2010" ... and then, and then, and then...
Fast-paced. That's about the only thing good about it. "
— James, 9/27/2010" This book was like reading an action packed block-buster movie. "
