Riley has crossed the bridge into the afterlife—a place called Here, where time is always Now. She has picked up life where she left off when she was alive, living with her parents and dog in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. When she's summoned before The Council, she learns that the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a possibly cute, seemingly nerdy boy who's definitely hiding something. They return to earth together for Riley's first assignment, a Radiant Boy who's been haunting a castle in England for centuries. Many Soul Catchers have tried to get him to cross the bridge and failed. But all of that was before he met Riley .
Radiance is the first book in the Riley Bloom series from bestselling author Alyson Noël.

— School Library Journal" I was really looking forward to this, as I always loved Riley in the Immortal Series. I'm not disappointed as such, as i understand that these books are being written for a younger audience, but i do wish that the book had been longer, and a little more to do with the Immortals series, as Ever and her storyline were hardly mentioned. I think this'll be a great series for new fans, but perhaps a little disappointing for Immortals Series fans. "
— Iona, 2/15/2014" Short and sweet, hope the next one is just as good. "
— Julia, 2/4/2014" Well ok. The book was just frankly beautiful on the cover. Look at it! Seriously, love it! Unfortunately, that is where the love ends. It was totally written for the tween set. Iusally don't mind it. However, it seemed just too watered down and it didn't have the spark that I expected. "
— Shannon, 1/27/2014" Ok this i hope makes sense because i have never actually reviewed a book before lol. I just finished this last night, having bought it since i LOVE the Evermore series. I found both good and not so good things about this book. While i DID like the book, don't get me wrong, and i will read the other books in the series, i kinda felt like everything happened to quickly in this book. Almost like the whole thing could have been on about 2 or 3 pages. But thats the only thing i found wrong with it. Riley is a very likable character and im sure we have all had a sibling who reminds us of her LOL, and Brohdi grew on me as well. I just felt like it was too little too fast. But what was there was good. I'm reading the 2nd book right now. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about reading it. "
— Tarra, 1/27/2014" This was a quick easy read that was very interesting. I defiantly want to read the second one. "
— Katherina, 1/27/2014" As a fan of Noel's Immortals series, it was quite interesting to read more about Riley. I found it to be a nice story, and enjoyed knowing what was going on with Riley and the parents, but I'm not really hooked into this series like I am with The Immortals. If you are looking for a story dealing with the afterlife, this is a good one. "
— Brandy, 1/23/2014" This was a great young adult read. It was a little magical, but a nice short one. "
— Keri, 1/22/2014" The plot was a little thin and definitely directed toward tweens. The premise of ghosts hunting ghosts, though, promises some good adventure for readers of future installments in the series. "
— Ginger, 1/18/2014" This book was ok. It was a little young. I prefer her other series. The Immortal series. "
— Maddy, 1/15/2014" It was a very good book "
— Dynahya, 12/21/2013" Actually. a rather good book! Though it could be longer, it was still a nice read. "
