Myron Bolitar hasn’t heard from Terese Collins since their torrid affair ended ten years ago, so her desperate phone call from Paris catches him completely off guard. In a shattering admission, Terese reveals the tragic story behind her disappearance—her struggles to get pregnant, the greatest moment of her life when her baby was born…and the fatal accident that robbed her of it all: her marriage, her happiness, and her beloved only daughter.
Now a suspect in the murder of her ex-husband in Paris, Terese has nowhere else to turn for help. Myron heeds the call. But then a startling piece of evidence turns the entire case upside down, laying bare Terese’s long-buried family secrets…and the very real possibility that her daughter may still be alive.
In grave danger from unknown assailants in a country where nothing is as it seems, Myron and Terese race to stay a step ahead of Homeland Security, Interpol, and Mossad. Soon they are working at breakneck pace not only to learn what really happened to Terese’s long-lost little girl—but to uncover a sinister plot with shocking global implications.

" I like the Myron Bolitar series, and this is a good addition. Coben weaves a compelling story. "
— Lark, 2/2/2014" I didn't particularly like this story. It's a bit far fetched for me. "
— Peggy, 1/29/2014" Loved it! A fantastic beach read! This was one of the Myron Bolitar series. I haven't read this character in over a year, but I still love him. The end was kinda depressing - maybe too real - but I still couldn't put it down. "
— Donna, 1/25/2014" Was not crazy about it, which is a bummer because Myron Bolitar is one of my favorite characters. There were very little laughs and that kind of ruined the book for me (besides the bizarre plot), since I love Myron for his humor. It was just an "eh" book for me. "

— Barbara, 1/15/2014" Well, Myron is funny and witty and there are a lot of one-liners and yes, I kept turning the pages--yes, is a fun read--but I think I want to try a few more non-Myron Coben tales. "
— Warren, 1/15/2014" Incredibly entertaining, fast-paced, and rather violent (much more so - and much darker - than books in the Myron Bolitar series usually are), I steamrolled through this in less than a day. I have to admit that the ending seemed a little too unrealistic, though... "
— International, 12/31/2013" I LOVE this series! Sorry I started with the most recent one, but still...I'll go back and read the other 8 from the beginning. Reminds me a little of Sander's McNally character, but a little more stern. Myron is such a great guy! Thank you, Melinda H.! "
