"Book 5 in the Myron Bolitar series by Harlan Coben. Myron is hired to bodyguard the star player in a new women's professional basketball league. Brenda's mother went missing 20 years ago. Her father went missing a week ago. And now someone is making threatening telephone calls to her. Brenda doesn't want a bodyguard, she just wants Myron to find her mother. Myron has to deal with the mafia trying to start a rival women's basketball league. He also must deal with the millionaire family of the man running for governor, and the candidate's (possibly murdered) dead wife. In the end, several more people end up dead, Myron is threatened, kidnapped, threatened some more, and (finally) solves the disappearances and murders. This is not a book with any happy endings, but that is not a criticism, it is a recommendation - most books of this type take the easy out, and everyone lives happily after, this is a nice change. The more of Coben's works I read, the more I like them."

— Stacy, 1/30/2014" So, SO much better than the last Bolitar novel (Back Spin). That one was an absolute throw-away that I forgot as soon as I finished. This one is wonderful. It would be helpful to know the background of all of these terrific recurring characters, but it's strong enough to stand on its own. Restored my faith in the Bolitar series and I look forward to the #6. "
— Deb, 1/29/2014" Audio Book. Myron Bolitar is asked to protect the new WNBA star Brenda. He knew Brenda's father from some the days when Myron played. Myron ends up trying to find Brenda's mother. It turns out her mother was killed along time ago by her aunt. She was "

— Elizabeth, 11/23/2013" I like all of Coben's books. A little mystery- who dunit, a little romance, and I think he is a great character. Fun to read and usually a quick read. "
— Sharon, 11/22/2013" This series gets better with each book, and I'm truly enjoying it. The humor is definitely firing on all cylinders, Win is his dryly witty, kick-butt self, and I do love that. "
— Dani, 8/27/2013" Good, but not the best one hes done. The characters were not as witty as they usually are and he seemed to be stretching a little to end the book. Kind of a random ending to an otherwise good start, but still worth the read. "
— Denorris, 8/7/2013" 5th book in a series starring Myron Bolitar, x-college basketball star turned sports agent. Harlan Coben is a easy to read author with suspense, humor, and unique characters. "

— Mark, 5/20/2013" I hate to admit this, but this is type of book feeds into my guilty pleasure of reading a macho 'can-do' guy who can work his way through troubling problems. If you like this type of detective thriller...you'll enjoy the journey. "
— Imageseer, 10/29/2012" This is the first novel in this series I've read and I was not convinced. The characters are very well painted but on the whole I found it a little unwieldy and not always easy to follow. "
— Paul, 9/21/2012" See "Deal Breaker". Fourth in series. Still hooked. "
— Mailmanr5, 9/3/2012" Typical Coben. Keeps you guessing, and keeps you interested. Quirky Myron, dangerous Win, and the other cast of "characters" who are truly characters. Fun to read, and the usual parental link to the mystery. "
