"This one is about a man who disappeared and was presumed dead, being seen alive. As usual, I had no idea who did the deed until the very end. As usual, there were a couple spots with inconsistencies. But, overall, I had trouble putting it down; I wanted to see what happened next. And I enjoy the strong, smart, no-nonsense female lead."

" I thought this was one of the better Kinsey Millhone books. The story line is more complex than some of the books in this series and there is a nice parallel with Kinsey examining her beliefs about her own family while investigating her case that also has a lot to do with family and relationships. "

" Solid Milhone. Kept me guessing until the end. Light on the continuing characters, but solid supporting characters. Nice twists in plot. Loved the ending. Recommended. "

" Having read all up to now, this one just didn't catch me like the others. Was still a good read and as part of the series I couldn't imagine not reading it. I guess there's gonna a be at least one so-so book in such a series. "

" I read all the books in this series. They are nothing earth-shattering and after reading a few, you can see the formula. But I like the Kinsey character and they are easy and fun to read. "

" I found this installment to be a little boring. The mystery itself was really good and had a surprise ending - like all of the Alphabet books. The trouble was while investigating this disappearance, Kinsey also started looking for her long lost relatives and frankly I really don't give a hoot as to who her relatives are. IMO Kinsey's family has no baring on this story and therefore seemed to be just filler. "
