Publisher Description

"I don't do patrols, I don't go hunting, I just stick close to you. You live your life. I'll keep you safe," Tamani said, sweeping a lock of hair from her face. "Or die trying."

Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.

But just as life returns to normal, Laurel realizes that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.

Quotes

  • “Who knew faeries could be this cool? Illusions has it all. It’s fascinating, rich, and romantic, and weaves a great new tapestry of thrilling fantasy.”

    — Lisa McMann, New York Times bestselling author
  • “Wow. Pike has taken her already acclaimed series and turned the story up a notch. It’s full of plot twists and character development that keep the pages flying. You’ll love seeing Pike explore and develop her faerie world and its politics.”

    — RT Book Reviews (4½ stars)
  • “Pike recaptures the excitement of the first book and fills the story with suspense and a surprise twist at the end. Mandy Siegfried does an excellent job of portraying the characters with all their quirks, and perfectly gives the secondary characters their personas.”

    — School Library Journal
  • “Though the danger of trolls continues to pervade Laurel’s life, the plot mostly focuses on the triangle, with the added dimension of a new girl, Yuki, who has her own faerie connections. A dramatic conclusion will leave readers anxious for the next installment.”

    — Booklist
  • “Fans will revel in the idealized characterizations, breathless abstinence romance, lurking danger, and newly explicit Arthurian parallels.”

" At first it was boring. Than romance kicked it up a lot! And I can honestly say I want tam and laurel to be together and david and Chelsea. And I love that they made Kiki be a winter fairy. But I never saw that other chick being a fairy too. "

" The books was good. I enjoyed reading it. And I will read the next part. But it was nothign more. It'S a nice story with much potential, that is not fully used. Also now in the third book, this love triangle get's a little bit repetiv. There where not many major surprises, I knew from the begiing wehre this was going and with yuki and stuff... But it was still a enjoyable read, and I really hope that we will see more of the problems in Avalon with the politics and so on in the next book. "

" I was really liking this series but I am finding our protagonist a bit...SUPREMELY ANNOYING!!! Seriously it's like the girl is a player with a flower on her back! I know it's a bad love triangle when I think that both of the boys would be better off with someone else! "

I would have done myself a huge favor and waited for the next book to come out. Oh Miss Pike, you broke my heart with your cruel cliffhanger! "
