The blockbuster best-selling author of Night Road and Firefly Lane delivers a masterful novel that explores the sacrifices of one American family and illuminates the true cost of honor, duty, and love.

From a distance, Michael and Joleen Zarkades seem to have it all: a solid marriage, two exciting careers, and children they adore.

But after twelve years together, the couple has lost their way; they are unhappy and edging toward divorce. Then the Iraq war starts. An unexpected deployment will tear their already fragile family apart, sending one of them deep into harm's way and leaving the other at home, waiting for news.

When the worst happens, each must face their darkest fear and fight for the future of their family. An intimate look at the inner landscape of a disintegrating marriage and a dramatic exploration of the price of war on a single American family, Kristin Hannah's Home Front is a provocative and timely portrait of hope, honor, loss, forgiveness, and the elusive nature of love.

" Gripping!!! It has been awhile where a life drama book makes me want to sit and read it and not get up tip its done. Anyone who knows me knows I read books all the time in one sitting but just because or a mystery/ suspense book made me. I don't know maybe this book close to home. I was a military kid and knew people who didn't have happy endings from the war! But this book drew me in so my dogs sat with me all Sunday morning while I read. At times it was emotional! Really when I checked it out at library I wasn't sure I would get into it! But its more about friendships, marriage, love and the hard part of asking for help for the injuries and ptsd after war. This was my faborite so far from this author! "

" It's hard to even try to begin explain how I felt about this book. My husband is in the Army and has deployed several times....just like Jolene he tells us things to protect us even though I know better. Kristin Hannah seems to have the uncanny knack of putting on paper things that I never realized I felt until I read her words. To say this book resonated would be a understatement. Loved it. Great read. "
