Reclusive collector Cutter Merlin is seldom seen in Key West—lately, not at all. Officer Liam Beckett visits Merlin’s curious house and discovers the gentleman in his study. In his death grip: a volume of occult lore and a reliquary. His eyes are wide with fright, his mouth a horrified rictus where spiders now dwell.
Kelsey Donovan returns to the old house to catalog her estranged grandfather’s collection of artifacts and antiquities, vowing to see his treasures divested properly. But she cannot ignore the sense that she’s being watched, the reports of malevolent black figures, the pervasive smell of death.
Is the Merlin house haunted, even cursed? Liam knows well that some ghost stories are true and he swears to protect Kelsey. But there are forces at work for whom one more life is a pittance to pay for their deepest desire….

"This book was given to me and I put in a pile to read eventually. I had no idea it was part of a trilogy, even though it was stated on the cover :) I liked the book and the strong female character. I also liked that until almost the very end I had no idea who killed the latest murder victim. A fast read, good for car rides, plane rides, suntanning, or proctoring the PSSAs :)"

" this book was much weaker than the last two. The H&H hooked up way t fast and the mystery wasn't much of one. "
— Shyloh, 1/25/2014" so far it is pretty interesting. seems to be a mystery thats being unsolved slowly which keeps the suspense going. "
— Antonella, 1/25/2014" I loved the whole series!!! Fascinating.....Hard to Put Down! "
— Melonie, 1/19/2014" A nice wrap up of a very entertaining trilogy. "
— JazzRizz, 12/31/2013" This read more as a cliched romance than a mystery/thriller--I prefer the latter. Even the mystery seemed slow and the dialogue stilted. "
— Michelle, 12/31/2013" I'm hit or miss with Heather Graham...but I truely enjoyed the bone island trilogy..very well written...characters that you get very attached to and a ghost who you fall in love with...I loved the final book the best!! "
— Ginnifer, 12/25/2013" A very enjoyable read. A fantastic mystery, with interesting characters who are actually 3 dimensional. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves mysteries with a twist. "
— Nora-adrienne, 12/20/2013" I didn't like this final book in the trilogy as much as I did the other two. There wasn't as much action. "
— Sierra, 12/6/2013" Another great book...sad that the series is over! "

— Rhonda, 10/19/2013" It wasn't as good as the previous books. I don't know how to describe it but it just didn't seem to have that build up on clues and suspense like the other two books. But it was still a nice quick read. "
— Victoria, 6/21/2013" Like ghost stories around haunted houses. Key West seems so cool, I have to visit! I liked Liam and Kelsey, not enough of the other characters though. This story line was better and I enjoyed the conclusion and of course the ghost Bartholomew! "

— Carol, 2/8/2013" I hated to see the trilogy end. "
— Julie, 1/14/2013" I liked this one a little more than the 2nd. I still figured out a lot of it half way through. I thought the ending was too rushed. I can't figure out why Bartholomew only got a half of a page at the end. He was my favorite part of all 3 books. "
— Kristin, 12/28/2012" Loved all three books, and I was happy with the way it ended, sad about Bartholomew, but I guess it was what had to happen.Would recommend all three books in this series. "
— Natalie, 9/14/2012" Ok, this was the best of the trilogy. The ground work was laid. The plot thicken as clues were given. This puzzle wasn't as easily solved as the first two books. Good job! "

— Michelle, 8/4/2011" I loved it! Liam Is awsome and When Bartholomew dissapeared I about cried. "
— Chi, 5/9/2011" Enjoyed this book. The characters were great, but there were a few parts that were repeats of other work by Graham. "

— Vera, 3/18/2011" a corny read but I love ghost stories and they are hard to find. "
— Kim, 3/7/2011" If you like the other two, you will like this one. I'm glad I'm done with the Key West ghosts and evil people. The reason it got three stars was I liked the way Bartholomew's story ended. "
— Mum, 2/28/2011" The same as the first two. I loved the book, although I was sad to see the trilogy end. This group of characters was fun to read and I was actually hoping for more. "
