Publisher Description

With the ring of sorrows still missing, and the covenant between othernaturals and mortals broken, Chrysabelle and Malkolm's problems are just beginning. Chrysabelle still owes Malkolm for his help, but fulfilling that debt means returning to Corvinestri, the hidden vampire city neither of them is welcome in.

The discovery that Chrysabelle has a brother could mean reneging on her promise to Malkolm, something that might make him angry enough to loose the beast living inside him. And fulfilling her vow could prove devastating for Chrysabelle—especially when you throw in power hungry witches, dead fringe vampires, and the Kubai Mata.

"The 2nd time around is all thumbs up from this reader! Flesh & Blood was much more enjoyable than Blood Rights. The story was more fluid, the characters felt like there was more meat to them & there was a lot less from the crazy bitch baddie this time. I burned through this book in a matter of a few days where the first took me 2 weeks to get through. Though with the multitude of characters & the constant switching POV I find that the reader doesn't get enough from the main characters. The fringe characters (hehe) while integral to the story shouldn't be given so much of our attention in my opion. The whole bit with Dominic & Katsumi could have been cut out, those characters I find are more cogs in the machine. Anyway I enjoyed this book, the series is original enough that it isn't the same ol same ol vampire/shifter/fae world from everything other urban fantasy. Looking forward to book 3!"

" Kept me intrigued and wanting so much more...the introduction of some new characters was vital to the story but the sudden need for a love triangle did not warrant (why oh why lol)!!! All in all great second book and looking forward to reading the next.. "

" I'm starting to get frustrated. Why do authors think it is necessary to have an alternate love interest? "

" More like 3.5 stars; fast-paced sequel to Blood Rights. Although I enjoyed the continuing tension between Mal and Chrysabelle, I thought the introduction of a new love interest to be annoying and unnecessary. On the other hand, the struggle with Mal's ex-wife, Tatiana, is filled with desired twists and turns. I will still read the next book in the series. "

" I would give this 2.5 stars if I could but I felt generous after finishing it so I gave it 3. Wasn't as good as the first and I had decided not to seek out the last one until the last chapter. Now I might read it once I read some more important books on my list. "
