" A Temperance Brennan novel, starting with a contractor who discovers a hidden cellar in a house he is remodeling, filled with voodoo items and a human skull. A few days later a body of a boy is found by a river, also with satanic overtones, and another murder follows. Linking the murders and sorting through suspects fills the rest of the book. I did not like it as well as most of her other books. "

" A darker Kathy Reichs but not as dark as Patricia Cornwell. Tempe (our hero) is going through a bad time in her life but I really felt for her. It's that good. "

" Another good one in the series, but not the best one. I had a hard time getting into the story for some reason. The plot seemed to drag on. In these kinds of books, I prefer a faster pace of action in the story. However, I am looking forward to the next one in the series. I recommend all of the books in this series. And I love the TV show Bones that is based on the Temperance Brennan series of books. "

" I read this because I love the TV show Bones. Not even close. The characters weren't as engaging as the TV ones. :) It was mediocre, but as I read it on vacation, at least it was easy to keep track of the storyline! "
