#1 New York Times bestselling author Kathy Reichs, a producer of the Fox hit show Bones, is back with her fifteenth “pulse-pounding” (Publishers Weekly) novel featuring North America’s favorite forensic anthropologist, Tempe Brennan—a story of infanticide and murder set in the high stakes, high danger world of diamond mining.
A woman calling herself Amy Roberts checks into a Montreal hospital complaining of uncontrolled bleeding. Doctors see evidence of a recent birth, but before they can act, Roberts disappears. Dispatched to the address she gave at the hospital, police discover bloody towels outside in a Dumpster. Fearing the worst, they call Temperance Brennan to investigate.
In a run-down apartment Tempe makes a ghastly discovery: the decomposing bodies of three infants. According to the landlord, a woman named Alma Rogers lives there. Then a man shows up looking for Alva Rodriguez. Are Amy Roberts, Alma Rogers, and Alva Rodriguez the same person? Did she kill her own babies? And where is she now?
Heading up the investigation is Tempe’s old flame, homicide detective Andrew Ryan. His counterpart from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is sergeant Ollie Hasty, who happens to have a little history with Tempe himself, which she regrets. This unlikely trio follows the woman’s trail, first to Edmonton and then to Yellowknife, a remote diamond-mining city deep in the Northwest Territories. What they find in Yellowknife is more sinister than they ever could have imagined.
Crackling with sexual tension, whip-smart dialogue, and the startling plot twists Reichs delivers so well, Bones Are Forever is the fifteenth thrilling novel in Reichs’s “cleverly plotted and expertly maintained series” (The New York Times Book Review). With the FOX series Bones in its eighth season and her popularity at its broadest ever, Kathy Reichs has reached new heights in suspenseful storytelling.

"As with all of the Temperance Brennan books, I enjoyed it. While they all are very formulaic, it doesn't seem to bother me as I just cannot put them down. I can't say that this one stood out more than any of the other books, nor was it my favorite of the series, but all in all, a very enjoyable read. And, as always, the banter between Brennan and Ryan kept me amused through the entire novel."

“Reichs always delivers a pulse-pounding story, and here she also sheds light on very real issues surrounding Canadian diamond mining.”
— Publishers Weekly“Recommended to fans of the series.”
— Booklist“Reichs…delivers solid, albeit grueling, post-mortem work, nonstop complications and enough action for a weekend at the bijou.”
— Kirkus Reviews" Kathy Reichs--always good to me. "
— Sundra, 1/29/2014" Fantastic plot twists. Great mystery. "
— LinseyM, 1/6/2014" Another enjoyable read in this series. "
— Pauline, 12/27/2013" Not the best in the series but not bad either. "
— Fawn, 12/26/2013" Temperance Brennan, although surrounded by detectives, solves the crime again! "
— Jackie, 12/20/2013" A better-conceived plot than some of her recent ones. "
— Jenn, 12/18/2013" This is another fine outing by Tempe. This time we get to visit western Canada. Who knew about the diamonds out there? As always, this is a good engaging read. Not alot of additional character formation among the cast - but a fun read anyway. "
— Nick, 12/14/2013" Cool plot twist to get them up north and into the Canadian diamond mining drama. I had some deja vu moments from the descriptions of Yellowknife, which I visited in 1990 working for Environment Canada. Great addition to the Tempe Brennan saga. "
— Terri, 11/27/2013" I love her books. This one was a good as all the others. I enjoy trying to spot the twists before she announces them but I rarely manage it. I love the fact that the science involved in the cases is real. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait until the next one comes out. "
— Korry, 11/20/2013" I always enjoy Kathy Reichs books, just wish they were longer! "
— Pat, 11/19/2013" Kathy Reichs should read Patricia Cornwell to give herself a heads up on how too much distress added to recurrent characters can spoil an entire series. And she needs to learn how to inform her reader without boring them to death. "
— Kellie, 8/11/2013" Not one of my favorites.. "
— Cathie, 6/24/2013" Love the book! But I had problema with this book writing, slangs that I'm not familiar. (English is not my native language). "
— Yu, 6/20/2013" Boys did she ever do her research on this one, everything she talked about I pretty well knew from where I work, it was an excellent book and I highly recommend it "
— Angela, 5/16/2013" Love this series, but it's driving me insane that Tempe and Ryan aren't back together yet! Way to keep the hope alive and not do anything about it :( "
— Tara, 4/22/2013" very typical reichs book. good story with a few twists. "
— Daniel, 4/20/2013" I must be getting tired of forensic mysteries because this one just didn't do much for me. I loved the earlier books in the series, but how many ways can a person die before the stories all begin to sound the same? "
— Tina, 3/27/2013" As always an interesting, suspenseful, informative read. This one has diamond mines, gold mines, drug dealers, pimps, the Canadian far north, along with the usual dead bodies and forensics. "
— BJ, 2/27/2013" The book was hard to follow in the middle with all of the characters but is got me back on track by the end. "
— Mary, 10/17/2012" Another good reading book by Kathy Reichs. Keeps you guessing until the end. "
— Dorothy, 9/5/2012" Good yarn - From Quebec to the Northwest Territories chasing a baby killing hooker with some surprises along the way. "
