One night while is off by herself, a man named Salazar Sanso gives her a proposition that is hard to resist. The catch is that she must recover a large amount of money that she is told her father has hidden. When her plan goes awry, Sanso and his team of men attack the camp, killing everybody they see. Then they set everything on fire. During the blaze, Janeal has to see her father die right in front of her, and her best friend is trapped. She is forced to make a horrible decision, risk her life to save her friend Katie or escape unscathed and leave Katie behind. Years later, her choices and her past come back to haunt her and she ends up in another life-or-death situation, where escaping may not be an option at all."
