Publisher Description

Zach Barrows is an ambitious young White House staffer whose career takes an unexpected turn when he's partnered with Nathaniel Cade, a secret agent sworn to protect the President. But Cade is no ordinary civil servant. Bound by a special blood oath, he is a vampire. Cade battles nightmares before they can break into the daylight world of the American dream, enemies far stranger-and far more dangerous-than civilians have ever imagined.  Blood Oath is the first in a series of novels featuring Nathaniel Cade-the President's vampire. "Christopher Farnsworth's taut thriller Blood Oath is an irresistible page-turner.... A complex and unnervingly realistic tale in which vampire Nathaniel Cade is far less of a monster than his human colleagues at the CIA and FBI. Dazzlingly clever."The Washington Post "Blood Oath is exactly how I like my Presidential thrillers. With vampires."—Brad Meltzer, author of The Book of Fate "Blood Oath is the vampire novel that finally gets it right. Christopher Farnsworth has done his homework in places where most writers wouldn't even know to look-and the result is a rollicking tale of the supernatural grounded in some of the true oddities of American history. If Dan Brown wrote a vampire thriller, this would be it."—Mitch Horowitz, author of Occult America "As someone who thinks Stoker's Dracula has never been bettered, and who would happily stick a stake through the heart of most modern vampire fiction, it almost pains me to say how much I enjoyed Blood Oath. Witty, exciting, and compulsively readable, with a central character who seems destined to become a favorite of both skeptics and true blood believers, this may just be the best debut vampire novel in many years."—John Connolly, author of The Lovers

"Loved this book. Be warned, there is some language. This book imagines that a vampire serves the office of the president of the USA. While the story is fine, my favorite bits were the beginning of each chapter that either 1) explain parts of hidden US history that the vampire was involved with (ever wonder what's on the missing minutes of the Nixon Watergate tapes?) or 2) gives us parts of an gov't book about the president's vampire including the various tests done on him and how the real thing measures up to various myths. A very creative and engaging book, a vampire book with a monster designed as an apex predator, not a romanticized & softened version of vampires."

" I am loving this book. I was a history geek growing up and love when genres blend. The history novel, mixed with a spy novel with a dash of Angel has got me into this book. I am about 29 percent done and I can't wait to get to the end and start reading the next novel. Finished this book and going to download the President's Vampire soon. I think this book would be awesome as a comic book. I think it would fit nicely with Dark Horses horror books like the Goon, BPRD and Hellboy. "

" I liked this one more than i thought I would at the beginning. The characters draw you in, and it goes cooly supernatural in a nice suspense novel. Plus, who can argue when zombies and Frankenstein get added to a vampire story? Not me! "

" Bronson Pinchot really makes this book work. I probably wouldn't have gotten through the first chapter without his wonderful narration. The cliches would have stopped me. Fortunately, I lived to see two of my favorite things in one book: vampires and mad scientists. "
