"Amelia's attraction to the masked Count and the intimate details of their affair was intense, but it lacked the quality of the other books in this series. I think that there needed to be less about the other love affairs and more focus on Amelia and the Count."

" I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the ride and like the complexity of some of the characters, but Amelia is in some ways so simpering. I also feel like overall Sylvia Day had some great complex plot ideas and steamy scenes, but her books just never quite live up to their potential. They could be so much more and rival something like Outlander if she weren't in such a hurry to get to the conclusion. "
— Alyssa, 2/17/2014" I like the way Sylvia Day writes, especially the steamy parts. I think I would have liked the book more if it was in a more modern setting. "
— Leah, 2/14/2014" There are extensive flashbacks to Passion for the Game, which, I guess were necessary to establish the relationship between Amelia and Colin. Unfortunately, if you've read the first book, the flashbacks were extraneous. Also, I didn't find the relationship between Amelia and Colin satisfying. "
— Tressa, 2/5/2014" Good period time romance. "
— Christy, 1/18/2014" This book is is vey clumsy and awkward. The situations are completely implausible. The conversation is stilted and not realistic. I'm spending a lot of time rolling my eyes as I read this, and I keep stopping to ask myself if I want to bother to continue reading. "
— Mskchick, 12/26/2013" I enjoyed this story more, but still not loving it. "
— Fil, 12/23/2013" Liked this one much better then the prior one. Great heroine and hero. Looking forward to Simon's book now. "
— Kindaangelic, 12/11/2013" better than the 1st in the series. Hot love scenes. "
— Lisa, 12/8/2013" Spicy. "
— Liz, 11/29/2013" Day should probably stick with the contemporary stuff, because neither her historical nor her fantasty fiction are as good as the "Bared to You" series. This book was not really bad, but also not that interesting. "
— Irene, 10/4/2013" By page 5, I was hooked... I am not into reading books that take place in decades long before, but this was a nice read. Thank you Sophie. <3 "
— Ana, 8/31/2013" loved it !! love a good romance novel "
