Plot Summary

Who is the stranger? Masked and after his prey, this unknown seducer holds her in her gaze like no man she has known... that is, other than Colin. It can't be, or so Amelia thinks, for Colin is dead, and gone are the days when she will shudder with delight, gently sighing his name.

She the lover, the hunted, is yet seduced by the stranger. Captivated and led into a garden full of moonlight and heaving pleasure, her life is forever changed. Obsessed with knowing who could be so fully tapped into to her desires, she anticipates every move, every need, and will not stop in her attempts to know him, even if it means uncovering the darkest of secrets behind his true identity.

Sylvia Day was born in 1973. She writes under the pen names S.J. Day and Livia Dare. Day is a former Russian linguist intelligence officer for the US military. Her erotic adult novels the Crossfire series is a best seller worldwide, the first book Bared to You reaching status as the fastest selling paperback in a decade in the United Kingdom. She has also received the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice award, and the National Readers Choice Award. She serves on numerous committees and panels for romance writers including Romance Writers of America, Romantic Times Convention, and Comic Con. She is currently president of the Romantic Writers of America.

"Amelia's attraction to the masked Count and the intimate details of their affair was intense, but it lacked the quality of the other books in this series. I think that there needed to be less about the other love affairs and more focus on Amelia and the Count."

" I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the ride and like the complexity of some of the characters, but Amelia is in some ways so simpering. I also feel like overall Sylvia Day had some great complex plot ideas and steamy scenes, but her books just never quite live up to their potential. They could be so much more and rival something like Outlander if she weren't in such a hurry to get to the conclusion. "

" There are extensive flashbacks to Passion for the Game, which, I guess were necessary to establish the relationship between Amelia and Colin. Unfortunately, if you've read the first book, the flashbacks were extraneous. Also, I didn't find the relationship between Amelia and Colin satisfying. "

" This book is is vey clumsy and awkward. The situations are completely implausible. The conversation is stilted and not realistic. I'm spending a lot of time rolling my eyes as I read this, and I keep stopping to ask myself if I want to bother to continue reading. "

" Day should probably stick with the contemporary stuff, because neither her historical nor her fantasty fiction are as good as the "Bared to You" series. This book was not really bad, but also not that interesting. "
