"Fantasy/other-world/alien type romances aren't usually my thing, but I very much enjoyed this book. My only complaint is that I found it a bit difficult to follow the descriptions of where they were and what was happening in Aiden's world. I read for pleasure and don't really care to work too hard mentally at it. lol. The story is of Aiden and Lyssa. Aiden is a angel that provides pleasure to Lyssa in her dreams. That is until her physical person is threatened and Aiden takes the risk and makes the jump to her world. All in all this is a very good love story and as we know, Ms. Day is very good at writing those steamy love scenes. This is the first book in this series. The following book is Heat of the Night, which I enjoyed very much also and will review separately."
— Lynnie (4 out of 5 stars)
“Pleasures of the Night sizzles as a romance, enthralls as a paranormal, and captivates with a fantastic cast of characters!
— Susan Grant, New York Times bestselling author“Sylvia Day delivers readers to a fantasy world as unique as it is erotic!”
— Toni Blake, award-winning author of Swept Away“So hot the pages should be on fire!”
— Gena Showalter, acclaimed author of Playing with Fire“One of those rare books…Filled with humor, action, danger, love, and passion that surpassed even my highest hopes.”
— Joyfully Reviewed" I likes this book for the hot sex scenes but the plot was a little lacking and felt a little disjointed and the ending sucked it wasn't even a good set up for a sequel I wanted more about some of the other characters in the (e.g. Chad the Elders Connor and Stacy) the book especially since Ms Day wrote as if she was going to or trying to expand on them but could not get a story together to do so. "
— Rhonda, 2/19/2014" Great sexual descriptions! "
— Brent, 2/17/2014" This book had me hooked from page 1 a read page turned move over 50 shades of grey "
— Jenn.coish, 2/10/2014" Took me a while to get into but in the end was a pretty decent book all in all. "
— Sherrie, 2/8/2014" I really enjoyed this book. Its different from the other books I have read from her. The dream world is different and I really enjoyed it. I loved the chemistry between Aiden and Lyssa. I can't wait to dive into the second book in this series. I am glad that I bought them at the same time. But I noticed there is a third and she is working on a fourth in this series. I really enjoyed the dream world along with the erotic hot steamy love scenes. It makes it more fantasy like and those are the best kind. "
— Lisa, 2/8/2014" Sylvia Day writes hot and passionate with ease. The characters were easy to like and root for. Still some unanswered questions at the end. My reading of this book was really disjointed due to being busy. Still, if it would have compelled me more, I would have found a way to finish it sooner. "
— Kjen, 2/3/2014" When you add dream hunky dream warriors and a chosen one together you get a steamy, suspensful book. I really liked the premise to this story. Warriors to protect human dreams and one particular human that has the ability to destroy the dream world. Add in a little twist and mistrust of authority and it maks a good story. Looking forward to more! "
— Maureen, 1/28/2014" Excelent plot! "
— Luciana, 12/27/2013" Blatant erotic saga (and that's putting it mildly)in which there is a "crossing-over" of Dream Guardians. These have been set in place to protect mortals from their own nightmares. The author could have achieved a more palatable result, by curtailing the abrasive nouns. "
— Debbie, 12/21/2013" I had a hard time with this one. Dreams, nightmares, then coming to life. Just not for me. "
— Cindy, 11/30/2013" Paranormal with international flavor. Love that the Twilight was Japan-influenced. "
— liligator1, 10/21/2013" The first Sylvia Day book I read (Bared to You) seemed to be a rip off of Fifty Shades. This one is much better - an interesting storyline (a la Karen Marie Moning), and sex scenes that aren't laughably bad in the writing department. "
— Julie, 10/19/2013" Awsome!!! Love Silvia Day!! Thank you for writing such great books!!! "
— Jillian, 10/12/2013" Fabulous story! lovedit and cannot wait to read more about Aiden and Lyssa! "
— Heather, 10/8/2013" The book was 200 pages too short. I was desperately trying to hit next when I got to the last page. Did that really end right there? "
— rdmickey1989, 10/7/2013" I'd give this 3 1/2 stars "
— Laurie, 10/3/2013" Slow start but good read! "
— Cristen, 9/30/2013" Strange Read ! "
— Karinie, 7/13/2013" I like Sylvia day but I could not get into this book at all. The prologue already had me lost. I am all for the Angel/Demonica theme but this was just wasnt for me. "
— Barbara, 7/12/2013" Not bared to you wonderful but it was not bad at all. A quick read. 3 stars because it he story took a while to get me interested. "
— Jamie, 6/3/2013" Gosh, now I want a dream Guardians "
— Annie, 5/21/2013" Rated 2.5 "
— Pamela, 5/6/2013" Hot angels, having sex and saving you from nightmares. That's pretty much it. "
— Lissettegomezarevalo, 3/5/2013" It was a good book. The beginning was confusing at first then you catch right on. I give it 3.5 because I felt scenes were rushed and the end just went to a dramatic conclusion. Still good though. "
— Chelsea, 12/29/2012" Yawn. Just couldn't get into, plot developments seemed forced and there were some parts I swear pages were missing entirely (or I just missed some vital bit of info earlier on). Won't try another of hers. "
— Meredith, 12/18/2012" Brings a whole new idea to dreaming and nightmares. Not impressed with the ending of this book so I'm looking forward to the next one to see how the problem of the lock, the key and the guardian is solved. "
— Marilyn, 12/3/2012" I wish there were more than 2 books in this 'series.' "
— Lauretta, 11/26/2012" Very good. Very erotic. I like the fantasy of this book, the dream world being real and able to intertwine the two. Yeah I really enjoyed it. Not to mention... Aidan sounds so damn hot. "
