Nothing incites Marcus more than the primal hunger roused by his former fiancée, Elizabeth. It’s been years since she jilted him for another man, but that only means there’s a lot to catch up on, a lot to make up for, and that he’s going to enjoy every sweet moment.…
The same drive and passion that sent her into another man’s arms is what brings Elizabeth back to Marcus. Her attraction to him is the one thing she fears, but she’s run out of options. Resisting is impossible. But does she have the courage to surrender everything?

"Can I give this 100 stars? I thought it was smoking hot and the story line was incredible. Marcus and Elizabeth have explosive chemistry. They are both hard headed and stubborn and have such intense passion. The intriguing mystery of the Journal of her late husband keeps the twists and turns coming. This is by far one of my favorite period romances. Thank you Sylvia Day for a wonderful piece of literature."

— Moon, 2/18/2014" I didn't connect with the heroine in this one. "
— Nicole, 2/12/2014" Not as strong as Day's other books, but that's okay. If I have learned anything about this author she has evolved as a writer. Great read for fans of historical romance. "

— Melissa, 12/15/2013" Convoluted story. I like her later books better. "
— Lisa, 12/14/2013" I love a well-written historical, and that is exactly what Day accomplished in this book. The love story was utterly romantic, and even though Marcus and Elizabeth hit a few rough spots (but thankfully didn't sink into TSTL territory) their obvious mutual adoration was beyond charming. "
— Gina, 11/14/2013" The book was good, I enjoyed the Crossover Series,by this Author. "
— Veronica, 11/13/2013" It was kind of hard to get into at first because I normally don't read books that the story line is based back in the early 1700 but the more I read the more I got into reading the book. It turned out to be a good book. "
— Crystal, 10/30/2013" As always, Ms. Day delivered a killer story with lots of lust, love and action with plot twists along the way! Loved it! "
— Heather, 10/15/2013" Nothing special, but still good. "
— Agnes, 10/6/2013" A very steamy read, but the characters lack depth. I much preferred 'bared to you'. "
— Blair, 9/1/2013" I loved this Historical Romance book! The only negative thing i can say is that i find it a bit hard to believe a lot of the language was used back then in 1770 when the book is set.Sylvia Day is such a terrific writer and she created great characters in Marcus and Elizabeth.Wish she wrote a sequel "
— Katrina, 8/2/2013" When I first started this book I was surprised at how similar the plot was to another of Sylvia Day's books that I have read. I thought the book was very mediocre. I didn't like any of the characters, the plot was pretty boring and it seemed like something I had read before. "
— Tracy, 7/28/2013" Review is posted on My Blog "
— Ąйα, 6/9/2013" My favorite of all her books. Marcus and Elizabeth are amazing characters! "
— Lori, 4/13/2013" It was great! And I loved the twist of who the villain was!! I can't wait to ref the next book! "
— Candace, 3/17/2013" An entertaining and interesting read. Intriguing plot paired with well written characters made this very enjoyable. I loved Marcus' roguish nature and that he never gave up on his desire for Elizabeth, even if fuelled by revenge in the beginning. A fine read. "
— Amy, 3/6/2013" Very intense book, amazing love story, loved the characters, couldn't put the book down - wanted more with every page, love Sylvia Day - she CAN!!! "
— Cheryce, 1/15/2013" I'm currently slightly addicted to all the Sylvia Day books. I love her characters and style of writing. Her books are all "easy reading" and I enjoy reading them. "
— Deb, 1/10/2013" Another Great Sylvia Day Book. Loved Marcus & Elizabeth together. You can feel the emotions in this book. If you are a fan of Sylvia, you'll enjoy this book. "
— Rashida, 12/24/2012" I've just never enjoyed books written in the "historical times". The reason I gave it a one is because I just don't like reading a book written in that era..,if it doesn't bother you, you will probably enjoy reading it and find it to be an enjoyable story. "
