"It was a really great book, you could feel the emotions and fear as well as longer for answers. She was brought out of the trap she was in and brought to a better place with bigger opportunity's for her and met amazing people along the way. You could feel the work of God and the questioning within herself (a battle between good and bad per say)and then when the longing was filled by the Lord you can envision the change in her life. Her coming out and wanting to be honest to those she loved.. the book overall was very touching in many ways to my own life and helped and also got me wondering too. Thanks Tamera!!!"

— Publishers Weekly" Tamera is always a fav of mine. She takes you back to the past with the characters and gives you a pretty clear view of what life was like in that place and time. I learnt a lesson or two from the characters in this book. Not to judge people before getting to know them and that if you fall get back up. This book is about getting to know what you want in life and shows some pretty strong female characters. "
— kuks, 3/29/2016" Period story set in New Orleans and Tennesee. Loved reading about the estate that the majority of the novel was set at. It was well depicted. The talent that Claire had, her appreciation and love for art, the artworks depicted, and the story of the patroness caught my interest and made for a wonderful story. "
— SLK, 1/26/2014" I enjoyed this story. It was a fun look into life at Belmont Mansion in Nashville, but also told the story of a girl who was a bit unconventional and was a painter. "
— Tanya, 1/17/2014" Loved this book! I actually cried in parts of it. Tamara Alexander is very moving. This is one I'm going to add to my library and keep to read over again. "
— Sheri, 1/14/2014" I liked this book quite a bit, but it did drag a little at times... "
— Leah, 1/6/2014" Mrs. Alexander has a great talent and I cannot wait to read more of her books. I got drawn into Claire and Sutton's story from the beginning and the ending was amazing and flowed seamlessly with the whole book. I enjoyed how the characters changed and grew over the course of the story. "
— Courtney, 1/5/2014" First book I had read by this author and it was very good. Think I will try a few more by her. "

— Denise, 12/28/2013" It was slow, less Christian than most which I appreciated. There was still kissing and longing ect. It was a slow read for me and a long book but, overall it was enjoyable. I'd probably read more from this author her characters are very believable. "
— Sophia, 12/19/2013" I liked it, but I think that still my favorite Alexander book is "Inheritance". I do look forward to additional books from this series. "

— Molly, 9/24/2013" A Lasting Impression was my first Tamara Alexander book. I doubt it will be my last. Her heroine Claire Laurent is living a lie and trying to escape her past. But can she? The settings are rich and her plot is tense. What more could I ask? "
— Lyn, 9/15/2013" It was cute, you could tell it was a christian novel. Not amazing, just a typical sweet romance. "
