" The Watchmaker kills two people and Rhyme and Sachs are on the case. In Deaver's usual fashion, you follow the killer and the detectives alternately. Dance just happens to be in NY from California and interviews several people (and then is almost taken by the Watchmaker's sex crazed assistant. Sachs is also head detective on another case where a business man supposedly committed suicide by hanging himself, but Sachs believes he was murdered. This case soon appears to involve some policemen and is politically sensitive. There is an interesting twist at the end, and the two cases come together. "

" Overall, a well-crafted mystery with engaging characters. Really scary murder methods for the reader to contemplate. The discovery the villian's true intentions wasn't that surprising and a little obvious that there was going to be bigger problems. But in general a great read for mystery fans. "
