Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Jeffery Deaver has long thrilled fans with tales of masterful villains and their nefarious ways, and the brilliant minds who bring them to justice. Now the author of the The Bone Collector has collected his award-winning, spine-tingling stories of suspense that will widen your eyes and stretch your imagination.

The Twisted stories include "Without Jonathan," "The Weekender," "For Services Rendered," "Eye to Eye," "Beautiful," "The Fall Guy," "Triangle," and "The Christmas Present" which brings back Jeffery Deaver's most beloved character, criminalist Lincoln Rhyme, to solve a chilling Christmastime disappearance.

Diverse, provocative, eerie and inspired, this collection of Jeffery Deaver's best stories exhibits the amazing range and signature plot twists that have earned him the title "master of ticking-bomb suspense" by People. "This guy is the Master of the thriller genre. He twists a story quicker than a Texas Bronco coming out of a shoot. This was a good mix of tales, there is something in here for everyone, and not all stories will please every person reading the collection. His good old standby Lincoln Ryhms also makes an appearance. If you want to sample Deaver before reading one of his thriller novels I would recommend you start with Twisted."

" If you love those short mystery stories with the wicked twist at the end you will thoroughly enjoy this collection of short stories by Jeffery Deaver. Often, in such a collection, the quality of the stories are a bit uneven, but these all seemed pretty much above average to me. They all had one of those wicked ironic twists at the end. As I read each successive story I tried to guess what the twist was going to be and sometimes I saw it clearly and sometimes it jumped up and startled me. This book is full of interesting cons, murder schemes, and general criminal behavior. I thoroughly recommend it to fans of Alfred Hitchcock type stories. "

" A nice collection of dark short stories. The twist(s) at the end are always satisfying. I liked some stories better than others; standouts for me were Without Jonathan, For Services Rendered, Beautiful, The Fall Guy, Triangle, The Christmas Present, and The Kneeling Soldier. "

" Every one of these stories has a trick ending to the point where it is a bit annoying. It reminds me, actually, of the new Sherlock Holmes show "Elementary" that does the same thing every week (He did it. No, he couldn't have done it, she did. Oh my, it was really the first guy all along.). Once or twice a huge twist in a story is fun. Halfway through this book, I just wanted to start skipping to the ends of the stories first, just to know. I still love his Lincoln Rhyme and Katherine Dance stuff, but I'm not seeking out any more short story collections by Deaver. "
