An ancient secret brotherhood, a devastating new weapon of destruction, an unthinkable target

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization—the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth: the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

"An outstanding read and despite the number of highly pointed and critical commentaries, also enlightening. Dan Brown never professed to hold immortal truths but provides the groundwork for expanded introspection. This was an interesting page turning novel dusted with bits and pieces of science and theology to provide an enjoyable and suspenseful thriller. I liked it as I have ll Dan Browns works."

" I try Dan brown. I tried with davinci code and deception point as well. But I can't stay interested in the same main plot line, the same main character, with the same religious backdrop. Angela and demons was and is just another crack at the same Masonic / catholic / treasure hunt that brown is so fond of. "

" Any 569 page book that sucks me in enough to read under a week deserves 4 stars. After the recent events with the Catholic Church and the changing of Popes this book was very relevant. I enjoyed learning more about the process. It was a bit more PG-13 than I would like (torture, sexual fantasies), but they were easy to gloss over and enjoy the rest. "

" I don't understand why people hate this book so much. its a great page turner. very engaging. couldn' t put it racing every page, science and religion's comparison made it even more interesting, the feeling of unfolding misteries of truth between science and, faith and human brutality made it somehow fascinating. however, I put 3 stars instead of 4 as in the end I rolled my eyes and did think"come on, THAT'S the beginning of it ALL?" ... overall, a great read, but Dan brown is far away from making good plot in the end.
