Plot Summary

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization, the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth, the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

"Out of the Dan Brown books that I have read, this is my favorite one. There was so much historical information that fascinated me, along with all of the scientific evidence which is the main focus of the book. The struggle between science and religion is all over this book and creates two ways to agree with the book. This book is a great read for anyone who loves history, science, and mystery."

" I was compelled to download this book since I enjoyed DaVinci Code. I liked this book better, finding the pace a bit brisker, although the storyline involves a much stouter pair of belief suspenders. The manner of storytelling moves the story along and kept me very engaged. I also liked the narrator better. I can't give it 5 stars, but kind of wish I could give it 4.5. "
