Chandra de Avenell might look like a golden princess, but she fights like a warrior, dreams a warrior's dreams, and wears a warrior's pride like a suit of armor. She wants to be strong, independent, and free. She has no use at all for a husband. Enter the man her father has selected for her.
Jerval de Vernon takes one look at Chandra, and he wants her. After he saves her from a very bad situation, he sets himself to wooing her—not an easy task. How does a man convince a woman he coerces into marriage to become a wife? To give him her loyalty and trust? Love is something he would like her to consider as well. But what if the wife has no intention of cooperating? Does he break her or finally give up on her?

"This author has many trilogies. The Night, the song, the bride etc. I have read all of them. I love them. You read one, and you have to read the others. She writes other books that are mysterious and crime filled. I enjoy this author."

" This is definitely a "fluff" book that will likely never be read again. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't original and the female lead is VERY similar to another of her characters in another of her books. I have no desire to continue her series either. "
— Lisa, 2/11/2014" Eh - this was just okay for me. Chandra is a tom boy who is forced to suddenly be a woman. I know just how she feels, poor bugger. "
— ♆, 2/5/2014" I've read almost all of Catherine Coulter's contemporary romance novels, and I loved all of them. I read this book as a March Challenge book. I enjoyed it well enough, although I had to put it down after the first like 3 chapters. The book was really intense, and there are a few things that most readers wouldn't enjoy reading. Catherine is really an amazing writer, so I'm going to try to read another one of her historicals, and see how they work out. But if you're someone who can handle all of the medieval-ness, and generally enjoy historicals and Coulter's books, you should read. "
— Monica, 2/4/2014" Putting aside the brutal rape at the beginning, neither Jervel or Chandra are likable. I honestly couldn't finish this book. "
— FeliciaKarenB, 1/29/2014" A predictable story line and an irksome voice talent, and I was just trying to finish by the end. "
— Cynthiaj, 1/24/2014" I actually enjoyed the original novel, "Chandra" much better than the re-worked "Warrior's Song." "
— Janette, 1/22/2014" Couldn't finish it. Chandra was so annoying and petulant all the time. I don't know what Jerval saw in her... "
— Cheryl, 1/19/2014" Despite some historical flubs (such as when they mention Amazon women) it was a slightly enjoyable read. "
— Kelseypearl, 1/7/2014" Read with the title of Chandra other than Warrior's Song. "
— Gloria, 1/1/2014" I really enjoyed this book. this is one of my favorite authors "
— Denise, 12/8/2013" Better than I expected. The beginning was awful even for a trashy book. "
— Rachel, 11/22/2013" Good, but at times irritating. "
— Jordan, 11/19/2013" It's either a strong 4 or a weak 5 star. But since I don't really like the heroine, I give it a 4. "
— Hannah, 11/18/2013" This was a bit of a strange book. Started off ROUGH and only improved slightly. I'd be interested in reading the "revised and repackaged" edition. Hopefully it would be better than this. "
— Beth, 11/10/2013" A bit slow at the beginning, but the action from a very different era than I've read/heard about before made it more interesting. "
— Annette, 8/16/2013" I honestly couldn't finish this book. The main character, Chandra, was a insufferable, selfish and immature woman. I couldn't stand her! The story line was very weak as well (not that I expect much from a romance novel...). "
— Sara, 2/7/2013" So far it wasn't what I expected, and I am only on page 48. I can't wait to finish another one of Catherine Coulter's books! "
— Mackenzie, 1/14/2013" great story. the end seems to drag out for me. "
— Sarah, 9/5/2012" Very readable book, but not that well written - repetitive, poor transitions, uneven heroine, and doesn't give as good a sense of the time period as you would expect with historical fiction. "
— Debby, 8/23/2012" Pretty good. Between 3 and 4 stars. "
— Jennifer, 4/8/2012" I do not rec this book. "
