In her small town, dubbed "Dullsville," sixteen-year-old Raven -- a vampire-crazed goth-girl -- is an outcast. But not for long...
The intriguing and rumored-to-be haunted mansion on top of Benson Hill has stood vacant and boarded-up for years. That is, until its mysteriously strange new occupants move in. Who are these creepy people -- especially the handsome, dark, and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town prattle actually ring true? Are they vampires? Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at the risk of her own mortality and Alexander's loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth.
Ellen Schreiber's spooky and stirring romance tells the story of two outsiders who fall in love in a town where conformity reigns, and ends with a shocking surprise.

"I liked this book, i was kinda confused by the end of it, where Alexander just disappeared into thin air, but aside from that, this book was really good. I love the characters (And have a bit of a weak spot for Trevor ;) But who dosn't? :) It was different from other books i've read because it seemed younger than Young Adult, it was more of a 'Teen' book, (Like the chronicles of Vladimir Tod-This series reminds me of the Vladimir Tod series more than anything!) The main character is goth, so that was a bit different from other things that i have read before (But the Chronicles of Vladmir Tod was much simalar, as the main character was soooo goth-looking that he was always mistaken for a goth, but he wasn't but anyway-this is past the point, back to this story.) I liked how Raven was such an outcast as she was (And sometimes still is) The only goth in the hometown. Raven is in love with Alexander. Spoiler for end of next book(view spoiler)[(Which is also so goth that i forgot that he was a vampire :) (hide spoiler)] and we love him :)I reccomend this book for people who like goth maincharacters, The Vladimir Tod series, Vampires, YA Fantasy and Series that are just about vampires (No were-wolves and other's included :)."

“Schreiber adds some refreshing twists to genre archetypes and modern-day stereotypes.”
— Publishers Weekly“This tale slides down easily and will be welcomed by Goths willing to look on the lighter side of their own culture as well as by readers who have an openminded appreciation for the vagaries of their peers and, perhaps, of themselves.”
— Booklist" I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It is amazing!!! "
— Chloe, 2/20/2014" Cute vampire novel, appropriate for my class of 5th graders, and it's a series. "
— Shanna, 2/15/2014" Was a fun book that was easy to read and had enjoyable characters. Was it the best out there? No.... But still if you have some time on your hands it is a fun way to pass a couple hours. "
— Amber, 2/5/2014" Funny and intresting take to vampire romances. "
— Eero, 2/1/2014" I read this book when it first came out and I was in high school. It felt very stereotypical to me though I did read its sequels. It was just so-so. Definitely written for young readers. "
— Emily, 1/27/2014" Raven is a vampire-obsessed goth girl who is unpopular in school, has two hippies turned yuppies for parents and has a younger brother who is affectionately nick-named "nerd boy." Everything changes when the Sterling family, who are rumored to be vampires, moves into the haunted mansion on Raven's 16th birthday. During her attempt to find out the validity of the gossip, Raven is caught up in an ongoing battle with her nemesis, goes on her first date and finds romance. This story is so poignant that you will want to read Kissing Coffins just to find out what happens with Raven and Alexander. "
— Tammi, 1/27/2014" totally judged this book by its cover and thought, "wow this is book is probably going to be pretty awful". i was presently surprised. It was an entertaining quick read, not a whole lot of depth to it, but that is expected with young adult novels. "

— Kelly, 11/25/2013" So yes. I read this... and let me just say if you're looking for a vampire romance this is NOT ONE to go to. It's redundant, cliche, and not very well written. "
— Breanna, 8/28/2013" The first novel that actually got me interested in Vampires and all fiction material. "
— Linda, 8/18/2013" The pace of this book went to fast. The characters were not fully developed and the relationships between the characters seemed unrealistic. I really disliked this book, and would not recommend it to anyone. "

— Kadijatou, 12/13/2011" I really enjoyed these books. They were a quick read but enjoyable. Sometimes the shortest books are the best. "
— Camryn, 11/25/2011" I really give the book 3.5 rating. I swear the author used the word nefarious 50 times in the book. Did the editor not catch this? Did no one own a thesaurus? The plot was more of the same and was a bit boring. "
