New York's Lombardo's Steak House is famous for three reasons--the menu, the clientele, and now, the gruesome murder of an infamous mob lawyer. Effortlessly, the assassin slips through the police's fingers, and his absence sparks a blaze of accusations about who ordered the hit.
Seated at a nearby table, reporter Nick Daniels is conducting a once-in-a-lifetime interview with a legendary baseball bad-boy. Shocked and shaken, he doesn't realize that he's accidentally captured a key piece of evidence. Ensnared in the city's most sensational crime in years, Nick investigates for a story of his own. Back off--or die--is the clear message as he closes in on the facts. Heedless, and perhaps in love, Nick endures humiliation, threats, violence, and worse in a thriller that overturns every expectation and finishes with the kind of flourish only James Patterson knows.

"This was one of James Patterson's books that I had to review properly. Originally I gave 3 stars, but on reflection I have to give more, I now feel it warrants 4 1/2 stars. Book kept me turning pages, and all I wanted to do was just going to read 1 more paragraph and ended up reading until early hours of the morning and regretting the late night when I had to work the next day!! I enjoyed the main character Nick and was totally drawn into this thriller. Couldn't believe all the twists and turns! Excellent fast read."

“The prolific Patterson seems unstoppable.”
— USA Today“A thrill a minute...another winner for Patterson and Roughan.”
— BookReporter.com“Patterson...deliver[s] another page-turning thriller...This story packs Patterson’s typical punch, featuring plenty of action and plot twists...Actor/narrator David Patrick Kelly keeps the rapid-fire plot moving expertly along.”
— Library Journal (audio review)“Patterson and Roughan explore the worlds of journalism, the Mob, and politics. They deserve kudos for understanding how journalists work—a quality that is rare among novelists. Magazine reporter Nick Daniels lands an exclusive interview with a reclusive disgraced baseball star. But before he can ask any questions in the fancy restaurant, a Mob lawyer is brutally murdered just feet away, and Daniels suddenly finds himself on the wrong side of a news story. Actor David Kelly takes the listener on a twisting, turning path through truth and lies as Daniels digs into the story in which he is the main player. Kelly’s enthusiasm, flair for accents, and contagious excitement make Don’t Blink the perfect cure for that long drive to the office.”
— AudioFile" James Patterson books always get me hooked by the second page. This was a fast read but I didnt want to put it down. "
— April, 2/18/2014" Missed the mark on this one "
— Laurie, 2/9/2014" If you read a lot of James Patterson novels then you know the pace is usually quick and the twists are abundant. This novel is no exception. In this novel, Nick Daniels is a reporter who witnesses a mob hit and is then warned not to investigate it or use the evidence he finds. Now he must decide whether to trust the law or trust the mob. The only problem with this novel is how it goes from 1st person to 3rd person, but even that is just a speed bump in this fast thriller. "
— Larry, 1/30/2014" a good one for JP, i was pretty into it and the storyline was interesting and a little different. "

— Jennifer, 4/13/2013" I just couldn't get into this book. "
— Jane, 4/4/2013" A notch below the Women's Murder Club series, and definitely much better than some of Patterson's recent "independent" novels. Kept me interested and fast paced. "
— Tara, 1/24/2013" Predictable, cliche, nothing orginal, and forgettable. "
— Lynn, 12/26/2012" I liked this one more than recent others. I liked the first person narrative to it especially and it kept me guessing. To me, though, one of the characters was a little too obvious. "

— Crystal, 5/7/2011" I liked the typical short chapters that James Patterson uses with his novels. It makes it a quick read and hard to put down.
It's the story of a journalist in his crazy moments in trying to write about the mob. In Patterson style, it has some gruesomeness, humor, and even some romance.
"
— Kelly, 5/6/2011" Always have liked Patterson books - he wrote this in conjunction with someone else but I still enjoyed it. "
— Natalie, 5/5/2011" Patterson doesn't disappoint! Love the fast pace and short chapters! "

— April, 4/26/2011" Pretty good! Typical James Patterson... not big on character development. Quick read. Every chapter is only a couple of pages. Surprisingly though this book had a few plot twists in the end that I didn't see coming. "
— Stacy, 4/25/2011" I rate this book better than the critics. "
— Michael, 4/24/2011" Patterson is crack to me I guess: I tell myself I'm don't and won't read him anymore, then I start the next one. Decent mob story. Would actually be a halfway decent movie. "
— Bobby, 4/23/2011" Action packed book, easy read, once you pick it up you will not put it down. Love to read Patterson's work allways entertaining and this book had it all. "
— Rachael, 4/22/2011" I liked this book - only liked, not really liked, not loved. Just liked. That is very unusual for me and a James Patterson book, but I did not find the story nor the characters compelling.
"
— Teresa, 4/13/2011" James Patterson is a wonderful writer; however, something got in his way with this book. Mediocre at best. "
