Zoe is an interior designer with a unique sense of style. But even more uncanny is her sense of what's going on under the surface, the secrets a house can hold. At the moment, though, Zoe isn't concerned about a client's space. She's more worried about what's going on in her own house in Whispering Springs, Arizona, where she lives with her new husband, private investigator Ethan Truax. After a whirlwind courtship, and a dangerous adventure, they've gambled on commitment, hoping that their powerful attraction can help them learn to live together despite their utterly opposite personalities. But newlywed life is suddenly interrupted when a shadowy figure from Zoe's past shows up in Whispering Springs, and her closest friend is put at terrible risk. For Zoe and Arcadia Ames share a shocking secret. And as they seek to protect the truth, they must join together, and with Ethan's help, accept a very dan-gerous dare. " This was good but I liked the first one better. In this one Arcadia, Zoe's friend is being stalked and Zoe and Ethan are there to help her out. "

" I just read Whispering Springs 1 last week and and picked up the second one by accident. Im happy there was a second one because i wasnt really content with how the first one ended. The second book continued right where the first one left off and i liked that. I liked the first book more but i liked this book because it gave me closure. I liked how she incorporated relationships of "the gang" but none of the other romances over shadowed Zoe and Ethan. If you liked the first book you'll like this one, "

" Definitely makes me want to listen to the first one in this series. (Too bad, there are only 2 at this time. :-( ). "

" What a great two book series. Really liked all the characters. Zoe and Ethan were a great couple. "

" Thought I'd already booklogged this one, but apparently I was wrong! This one has likable, if a bit overly quirky characters, and a fairly standard suspense plot that picks up on threads from the previous book in this duology. There's also some very faint paranormal elements: this could easily have been an Arcane book, and you can see how Krentz is definitely revisiting themes from her earlier works in that particular series. "

" I read this book for the second time, and liked it just as much as the first time. It has been a couple of years and had forgotten the ending so it a surprise end both times! Good book. "

" Great second book. It's nice to see where a relationship goes after the romantic ending. This story had several layers of creepiness, suspicion, mistrust and outright doubt that the marriage would work. Even their dreams were forboding and held the spidery taint of something not quite right. I love the conversations about what it means to really be crazy and what it takes to accept the quirks of the one you love. Fun, slightly scary, and a little on the dark side, this book is a great second book in the series. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Connie | 1/17/2014

" This was good, not an easy read. I feel like it was a part of a series and I was missing something in the beginning. The characters seemed to already be developed. It was a good story, but all the build up left me a little unsettled at the end. It's like she rushed to get everthing finished up. "

" I have been a fan of Ms. Krentz's for a long time and this one didn't disappoint. I love to read a book that hits me with something I didn't see coming and this one did just that. Loved it! "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Vanessa | 11/16/2013

" This one was a little slow at the beginning, but caught on about halfway through the book, and then made good use of the enjoyable side characters. Zoe Luce is a psychic and Ethan Truax is her PI husband. Both characters are likable; there's some intrigue, suspense and romance. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Jean | 9/13/2013

" I liked that this was a continuation of Light in Shadows. While it tried to address all of the characters in this story, the story lines seemed to drag or jump a lot. Aside from the flow and seemingly lack of focus issues, I still enjoyed the story. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Donna | 8/21/2013

" Good story, interesting plot, but she threw in 2 or 3 explicit sex scenes like you would find in a cheap romance ovel. Took away from the story line and seemed out of place.... "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Leslie | 8/5/2013

" Typical Krentz, twisty turny suspense with a two great protagonists and their men. Arcadia Ames and Zoe Truax are in deep trouble. Their past is finally catching up with them and PI Ethan Truax is helping to safe guard them while investigating the mystery. "

" Bad past situations lead to sticky current ones for Whispering Springs transplants. Will the lives they have carefully rebuilt and the loves they have found be rent asunder? What do you think? This is another solid Jayne Krentz novel which satisfies. "
