Publisher Description

Percy is confused. When he awoke from his long sleep, he didn’t know much more than his name. His brain fuzz is lingering, even after the wolf Lupa told him he is a demigod and trained him to fight. Somehow Percy manages to make it to a camp for half-bloods. The only thing he can recall from his past is another name: Annabeth. Hazel is supposed to be dead. When she lived before, she didn’t do a very good job of it. Sure, she was an obedient daughter, even when her mother was possessed by greed. But that was the problem—when the Voice took over her mother and commanded Hazel to use her “gift” for an evil purpose, Hazel couldn’t say no. Frank is a klutz. His grandmother says he is descended from heroes and can be anything he wants to be, but he doesn’t see it. His bulky physique makes him feel like an ox, especially in front of Hazel, his closest friend at camp. He trusts her completely—enough to share the secret he holds close to his heart. This breathtaking second installment in the Heroes of Olympus series introduces new demigods, revives fearsome monsters, and features other remarkable creatures, all destined to play a part in the Prophecy of Seven.

"This being the 6th book following Percy Jackson, i thought I would be bogged down with him. But I was strongly mistaken, this book added so much more to the protagonist than I thought. After reading the entire first series and then having to read this book was frustrating but made me want to read more. With the addition of the roman camp, this book changed the entire series for the better. Also had a great reference to Jack London's "Call of the Wild" which is a classic piece of literature."

" Another intoxicating Rick Riordan title that my daughters and I sit in the driveway to finish listening to. Each chapter bring new and interesting details. We have fallen in love with every character and are thoroughly invested in each story line. Already thinking about the next book in the series long before the last chapter. "

" It was good to have Percy back in action. With Jason being one of the heroes of the last book. Percy is back and it is great to see him again. I really love the expansion and showing of the Roman Camp and the Roman way of life for the Demi Gods. It is a refreshing new look. The story is really good I kept turning pages not wanting it to end. This series of books is delivering on all fronts. I have not been disappointed yet. I highly recommend it. "

" I was very excited to get back into the head of Percy Jackson...just love watching this kid grow up! Blast from the past Hazel and awkward, brave Frank were nice additions, but there's just something about that Percy Jackson. Rick Riordan never disappoints with his blend of humor and heavy. "
