Publisher Description

The loving hand of God is at work in even the most unsettling circumstances... In the seemingly ordinary Amish home of Grace Byler, secrets abound. Why does her mother weep and wander deep in the night? And why does her father refuse to admit something is dreadfully wrong? Then, in one startling moment, the quiet life Grace has known is irrevocably altered, leaving her to question all she has been taught about love, family, and commitment.  A dramatic new story from New York Times bestselling author Beverly Lewis.

"I like all of Lewis' books, and this first book in the Seasons of Grace series is no exception. There's not really any closure at the end of this, so if you don't plan on reading the whole series, this probably won't be worth your time. I listened to it on a car trip, and I did not get bored with it once. I like that the reader uses different voices for the characters."

" This book was fine. I thought that there wasn't that much going on. It took the whole book to reveal the "secret" and it wasn't that interesting or surprising in the end. Wished it had been better. "

" I enjoyed this a lot. Liked the twist near the end, and am looking forward to part two. I enjoy reading about the simple life, and also seeing that the Plain life in many ways resembles that of the non-Amish. I will read more by this author. "

" This was a fairly good book. What I liked most about it was getting to read about the Amish people and what their customs and beliefs are. In terms of the plot, it was so highly predictable, it made me a little impatient. This is the first in the series, but I don't think I'll be continuing on. "
