" The father of all personal finance books. The phenomenally surprising thing about this book is that the author was born in 1874! Yet you can read the EXACT same principles in any of the many finance books written today. The stories are interesting little parables (originally pamphlets) and the book only offers a handful of the same truisms throughout, yet that is kind of the point: These simple lessons stand the test of time. About George S. Clason
George S. Clason (1874–1957) was born in Louisiana, Missouri. He is best known for writing a series of informational pamphlets about being thrifty and how to achieve financial success. He started writing pamphlets in 1926, using parables that were set in ancient Babylon. Banks and insurance companies began to distribute the parables and the most famous ones were compiled into the book The Richest Man in Babylon.
