"This book has been on my shelf for years, but I took it down randomly to read, and it was at a perfect time in my life to understand it. Although I go only so far with mysticism, many of the truths the author espouses are universal and practical."

" I purchased the pilgrimage because of a friend who referred it to me knowing that I also enjoyed the alchemist. While I went into this book with no expectations it was still fairly disappointing. The reader of this audiobook did a good job but the story itself was lacking in my opinion. The main character was not very heroic and did not give me much to cheer for. However, I do feel as though they were many subtleties and imagery which may have gone over my head so it is possible that another reader would enjoy it more than I did. "

" A little weird story by Coelho. Out of topic, after watching the Way, a movie about Camino de Santiago pilgrimage by Martin Sheen and his son, Emilio Estevez, i'm slightly interested in the pilgrimage route of Camino de Santiago and starting to read Conrad Rudolph's book, Pilgrimage to the End of the World: The Road to Santiago de Compostela. Now, it's become one of my dreams that one day I have a chance to take my own journey to the road of Santiago de Compostela. "

" this author made an initial statement with "the alchemist" and for me has become less and less interesting. i read this book and enjoyed parts of it, but it's tedious for such a simple story. it lacks the simple direct charm of "the alchemist" and begins to become a little pretentious about being a cool meaningful story...which for me is characteristic of his other work. " This was an odd book to read, it kept wavering between memoir and something else. It took me a while to commit to finishing it. I kept being distracted by other books. However, the last 5-10 pages made all of it worthwhile. There are ideas in some of the things the narrator came to understand about himself in those final pages that i found to be quite helpful in an abstract way for myself. S'different. "
