"This book has been on my shelf for years, but I took it down randomly to read, and it was at a perfect time in my life to understand it. Although I go only so far with mysticism, many of the truths the author espouses are universal and practical."
— Diane (4 out of 5 stars)
“Among Latin American writers only Columbia’s Gabriel Garcia Marquez is more widely read than Brazil’s Paulo Coelho.”
— Economist“An exciting tale.”
— Library Journal“A universal quest toward an expanded view of life.”
— Dan Milman, author of The Way of the Peaceful Warrior“The keys to self-mastery…wrapped in suspense and adventure.”
— Body Mind Spirit" I purchased the pilgrimage because of a friend who referred it to me knowing that I also enjoyed the alchemist. While I went into this book with no expectations it was still fairly disappointing. The reader of this audiobook did a good job but the story itself was lacking in my opinion. The main character was not very heroic and did not give me much to cheer for. However, I do feel as though they were many subtleties and imagery which may have gone over my head so it is possible that another reader would enjoy it more than I did. "
— Calvin, 11/13/2019" A must read! I finished this book in a couple of hours, onces I started reading, I couldn't put the book down. Yes! The book is that good. "
— The Alchemist, 6/9/2015" A little weird story by Coelho. Out of topic, after watching the Way, a movie about Camino de Santiago pilgrimage by Martin Sheen and his son, Emilio Estevez, i'm slightly interested in the pilgrimage route of Camino de Santiago and starting to read Conrad Rudolph's book, Pilgrimage to the End of the World: The Road to Santiago de Compostela. Now, it's become one of my dreams that one day I have a chance to take my own journey to the road of Santiago de Compostela. "
— Yulibean, 2/14/2014" Very similar to the alchemist... "
— Jeremybell13, 2/12/2014" this author made an initial statement with "the alchemist" and for me has become less and less interesting. i read this book and enjoyed parts of it, but it's tedious for such a simple story. it lacks the simple direct charm of "the alchemist" and begins to become a little pretentious about being a cool meaningful story...which for me is characteristic of his other work. "
— Alex, 2/11/2014" A Spiritual journey that leads to discovering ones self.... a road to Santiago "
— Kristine, 2/4/2014" amoozesh neshan dadane emkan ast. amookhtan, baraye khish momken sakhtan. "

— Liana, 1/20/2014" This was an odd book to read, it kept wavering between memoir and something else. It took me a while to commit to finishing it. I kept being distracted by other books. However, the last 5-10 pages made all of it worthwhile. There are ideas in some of the things the narrator came to understand about himself in those final pages that i found to be quite helpful in an abstract way for myself. S'different. "
— Gloriavirtutisumbra, 1/20/2014" I enjoy all of his books but this one was very interesting. "
— Ccyrus, 1/18/2014" I understand his will of writing something he had contact with, however this book for me wasn't useful. "
— Wilcky, 1/18/2014" This book reminds us its more about the journey than the destination :) "

— AJ, 11/30/2013" I spent July, a few years back, in Santiago de Compostela, taking a class at the university. I encountered people finishing their pilgrimage on a daily basis, which made me really appreciate the book. "

— Kristina, 7/20/2011" Another very unusual book by Paulo Coelho. His stories are like
myths or legends. They blur the line between reality and magic
and spiritual things. It's the story of a personal pilgrimage-what else? "
— Dianne, 5/17/2011" selalu aja mengajak merenung tentang siapa kita, mengapa, dan apa yang kita cari "disini".
"
— Dimasjantri, 5/2/2011" This book introduced me to Paulo Coelho. great reading. There is a prayer in this book which facinated me. Everyone should read this. The message is great. "
— Indira, 5/1/2011" Eh...this book wasn't nearly as engaging as I'd hoped. I've read The Alchemist, and loved it, and so after being disappointed with this I think I'm finished with Coelho's stuff. "
— Mac, 4/26/2011" his first book, auto-biographical about his pilgrimage to Santiago and initiation into modern Knights Templar; I was surprised by his religious practices, but really enjoyed his views and beliefs. "
— Melanie, 4/19/2011" I put this down almost instantly. I forced myself through the first chapter hoping to start liking it, or at least stop disliking it so much. That didn't happen. "
— Erica, 3/28/2011" This book is in the tradition of Carlos Casteneda, sort of autobiograhical and mystical. It was meant to be inspirational but it just seemed non-credible. There are little truths here and there, and it was an easy read, but not my kind of book "
