She had a perfect life. Then she got a real life …
For nearly twenty years, quiet, unassuming Lillian Manville has devoted herself to her self-made billionaire husband—and enjoyed a luxurious life of splendid homes, trips, jewels, and clothes. But when James Manville dies in a plane crash, Lillian’s grief is compounded by a shocking mystery: All that Jimmie has left to her is an old farmhouse in tiny Calburn, Virginia. Now Lillian’s unexpected circumstances are leading her to a made-over life in Calburn, an exciting business—and a sweet new love with a handsome local man.
But will she have the courage to unveil the truth surrounding a past scandal and the loss of her husband? The answers may be as close as the mulberry tree in her yard—and Lillian must dig deep within herself to right the secrets and lies that threaten to uproot the past she cherished and the future she treasures.
This lush bestseller shines with the passion, intrigue, and warmth that is Jude Deveraux at her best.

"I really enjoyed this Jude Deveraux book. It had just the right mix of romance and mystery with a lot of great character development. Even though the story is a bit far-fetched (why else do we read fiction?), the plot kept me entertained and interested. As Lillian/Bailey's life takes on new twists and turns, you really rout for her to come out a winner in the end. I would definitely recommend this book to all of Deveraux's fans and any who want to try her out."

“Deveraux’s touch is gold, and her protagonist combines innocent appeal with wry experience in a way that readers will surely find irresistible.”
— Publishers Weekly“Melissa Hughes’ soft narration weaves the romance of a new identity with the search for James’ past. With each chapter, the listener learns more about Lillian’ strengths…As the past comes into focus, the heroine must come to terms with both the truth and her new life.”
— AudioFile" I did enjoy this book but I know it would have been immensely better had I written down the characters to keep them straight. THere were way too many and with a couple of characters changing their names, it became even more confusing. I got very frustrated reading this book and really had to force myself to finish it. "
— Lori, 2/19/2014" this book isjust ok, unfortunately it's so out of reality. "
— Sheryll, 2/18/2014" This is fun summertime lighthearted read. I tend to like books that protray strong women characters, in fact, lots of times the women turn out stronger then they originally belief themselves to be and this is one of those. "
— Laurie, 2/13/2014" Admittedly this was trashy, badly written dialogue and well predictable, but it was a lot like a Lifetime Movie. You have to watch it. You know what's going to happen. It's entirely too long, but you realize if the heroine could make it through all that and come out okay, you're going to triumph in the end, no matter what you're feeling right now and even if you don't truly buy this line, the book or Lifetime Movie, allows you to believe it for just a second and frankly, that's nice. "
— Chrissy, 2/1/2014" An okay romantic thriller from Jude Deveraux. Entertaining enough but she's written better. "

— Matthew, 1/10/2014" Hands down, my favorite romance novel--none others have beat it in the last four years' worth of my reading. Story line was creative in itself--Deveraux signature. Crystal clear imagery, killer suspense, and jaw dropping character connections and disclosures. Suitably and eerily perfect title. "
— Annakrizia, 1/3/2014" I like Jude Deveraux's books because they are fast, fun and easy to read romances with a little bit of drama added. "
