Donna VanLiere's Christmas books have enthralled millions of readers. Now she delivers another inspirational novel about an unlikely friendship between two women—a friendship that will change each of their lives forever. The Christmas Note is now a Hallmark TV movie! Gretchen Daniels has recently moved into a condo with her two children to be closer to her mother, Miriam. As they build a life together in their new community, they notice a mysterious young woman, Melissa McCreary, who lives next door. She has few possessions, little personality, and keeps to herself. One day a local landlord who is looking for Melissa knocks on Gretchen's door for assistance. Melissa's mother has died and in the coming weeks the landlord needs Melissa to empty her mother's apartment. Gretchen reaches out and offers to help Melissa, but the apartment is a gut-wrenching shamble of a home. There is little worth saving except for a few photos and a note that is discovered on the crate beside the bed. It is unfinished, but in the two scribbled lines, Melissa discovers secrets about her family that she never could have imagined. Can two very different women embark on a journey that explores a long-buried need for forgiveness, hope, and redemption?

"I read The Christmas Note last year when it released. When I notice the audio edition, I had to "read" it again. To truly experience a Donna VanLiere novel, one must listen to Donna read the novel. I would not encourage most authors to do this; however, Donna VanLiere is a gifted storyteller. Some of the audiobook performers are gifted at multiple voices while Donna can not only do multiple voices, she can create a personality through her voice. I enjoyed the book when I read it, but I loved it when I listened to it. My only complaint is I wish it were longer. I didn't want to say goodbye to the characters."

“[The Christmas Note] is perfect to pop in the car for a holiday road trip. It's read by the author, an accomplished dramatist who pulls off a variety of voices and accents with ease.
— Crosswalk.comThis little book gets off to a slow start, but soon, if you are amenable, hooks you into its sentimentality. Lots of praying in this story, where the characters believe (or come to believe) that things happen for a reason. Simple and sweet.
— Ft. Worth Star-TelegramWhile this story certainly has a holiday setting, the emphasis is on love and generosity which will warm hearts at any time. The audio edition is especially affecting as read by the author, Donna VanLiere, who also gave us the Christmas Hope series…Many will be adding this audio to their list of favorite holiday stories.
— All Things Good and MoreAuthor VanLiere does a wonderful job narrating the story. She gives warmth and compassion to the characters… THE CHRISTMAS NOTE is a heart-warming story perfect for the holidays

— Jean, 1/12/2014" I enjoyed this charming little book very much, and I'm totally on board with the idea that "coincidences" are often actually "god-incidences". My main quibble with this book is that the author pushed the concept a little too far, the last amazing coincidence overstetching even my credulity. "
— Shannon, 1/8/2014" Cute Christmas read. "

— Donna, 3/7/2013" A very moving story by the author who wrote The Christmas Shoes. "
— Edb, 2/28/2013" Enjoyable...easy read...more twists than I expected. Ties together a bit too neatly, making it a little far fetched, but that's okay for a Christmas book. "
— Michelle, 2/12/2013" Feel good light read about two women who become neighbors, then friends and the sisters. Good for anytime not just Christmas. "
— Niza, 2/9/2013" This was a quick read and a sweet Christmas story. I didn't get pulled into the story as much as I would have liked, but it was still enjoyable -definitely a feel-good story for the holiday season. "

— Betty, 4/20/2012" What a great Christmas read! It was predictable and the dialogue was choppy in sections, but I enjoyed the story and how it played out. The sweetness didn't overwhelm me. This was given to me as a gift and I called and thanked the sender when I finished the book. "
— Stephany, 4/10/2012" A charming read about friendships and family; does require a bit of suspension of disbelief in terms of coincidences or rather the hand of God working, but isn't that true in real life as well? "
