"This was a good book! One of my thrift store finds. I just wish that I knew before hand that it was part of a series. And I could've read the other Yarbro brother's stories first. And IN ORDER. LOVED Gideon. LOVED Lydia. LOVED Gideon's older brother's Wyatt and Rowdy. And their wives, (Sarah and Lark), and their kid's and families. Helga and Lydia's twin spinster aunt's, Mittie and Millie were FUNNY!. LOVED the addition of Wyatt & Sarah's dog, Pardner. And later, Snippet, the abandonded puppy that Lydia found and rescued. And later became her's & Gideon's dog. MY one and ONLY complaint was all the mine stuff. Which is why I gave this book 4 stars, instead of the full 5. My favorite part of the book was the epilogue. SO SWEET! I'm really getting into these Historical romances."

“Miller makes the last days of the Old West in Arizona spring to life through her unforgettable characters and attention to historical detail. Add to this Miller’s signature brand of suspense and sensuality, and the fourth book in Miller’s outstanding Stone Creek series…is sure to please.”
— Booklist (starred reviewed)“Miller consistently produces wonderfully romantic, compelling historical romances, and her fourth Stone Creek western is no exception. It’s a captivating tale in which Miller’s astute attention to detail and vivid prose bring the characters to life with her trademark wit, warmth and charm.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)" I liked this book. It was the first I'd read by this author and wasn't disappointed. "
— Kristine, 2/7/2014" 10 years ago when Lydia was 8 yrs old Gideon Yarbro told her that if she ever needed him to send a letter to a certain address. When Lydia Fairmount was 18 she did just that when in order to save her home and maiden Aunts security she was to marry a banker whom she despised. True to his word Gideon shows up and kidnaps the bride-to-be and now the jilted bridegroom and a hired killer are on his trail. "
