It began with six stones.

From the deserts of Israel to the tsunami-lashed coasts of Japan, from the steppes of Mongolia to the most mysterious island on Earth - this is what we have come to expect from Matthew Reilly: stupendous action, white-knuckle suspense, heroes to cheer for, and an adventure beyond imagination. Strap yourself in and hold on tight as he unleashes his biggest and fastest adventure yet, The 5 Greatest Warriors.

When we last left Jack West Jr., he was plummeting into a fathomless abyss and his quest to save the world from impending Armageddon appeared doomed.

But all hope is not lost.

After an astonishing escape, Jack regroups with his trusty team. Racing to rebuild the final pieces of the fabled Machine, they discover an ancient inscription containing a rhyme about five mysterious unnamed warriors - great historical figures whose knowledge will be vital to unlocking the secrets of the Machine and its long-lost pillars. But the ancients have hidden their secrets well, and with each pillar bestowing an incredible power upon its holder, their pursuit has attracted the attention of other forces from around the world - some who want to rule it and others who want to see it destroyed.

With enemies coming at him from every side and the countdown to doomsday rapidly approaching, Jack and his team had better move fast. Because they are about to find out what the end of the world looks like.

"Ok, I admit it I was a bit slow in reading this book. Honestly though as much as I enjoyed the book and finally getting to the end of this series it just didn't completely capture me the way I was hoping. Some thing about it made it too easy to just read a bit and put back down till I got to the middle of the book. From there it was a fun read up till the conclusion which seemed rushed. Sure it tied everything together but it was almost to easy and simplistic of an ending. You get so used to the solving of puzzles in this series and to have the end be a quick shortcut just kind of left me wanting something more, something bigger, something where the conclusion was more exciting."

" Waiting and waiting and waiting .... FINALLY! I kept checking Amazon to see when this was coming out. Took awhile, but I was happy to see it. Six & Five were a great continuation of the original Seven, but I think the first (Seven Deadly Wonders) was the best of the series. "

" Very good "ending" to the series, even though he plans on going all the way to 1. I think perhaps that he is trying to beat Dan Brown, but not quite getting there. But I liked it alot. "

" Great end to an great series, but I don't think we've heard the last of Jack West, Jr. and his crew. I hope not because I'd love to read more of their adventures. "

" This is the third book in the trilogy and does not have a cliff-hanger that book two did. There was a year in between books 2 & 3 which was annoying. Book one was great with the ancient wonders of the world. Book 2 was okay, far-fetched and I let it go. This one was so-so. I read the first 200 pages, skimmed, and read the mission. I like the diagrams the author includes, but sometimes he lets that be the set-up to the scene. All in all, it was a big disappointment. "

" this is definetly mathhew reilly's top notch roller coaster ride, more deathes, more raomances, and more alliances are made. Great book!! "

" This Jack West series is fun but not my favorite of Reilly's writings. Too big a suspension of disbelief is required with cliff-hangers whose resolutions are a bit too preposterous even for me. "

" I finally got my hands on this last book in the trilogy. It was a good ending. The book was filled with all the action and adventure I expected of it. I am jealous of Reilly's imagination. But still, not as good as Dan Brown. "

" An absolute awesome read. The characters were solid as was the plot. It moved along at a generous speed without trailing into needless detail or rushing along with too little. The adventure left my heart racing and breathless. The best book out of the series, matched only by the novel Temple. "

" This was the first time I started reading a german edition of a Matthew Reilly book. What a horrible translation - very quick and very, very dirty. Final editing? Obviously none... After 30 pages this edition went into the garbage can - but I will give the english edition another try. "

" If you want a fun read Reilly is the guy for it. Another great tall tale featuring Jack West Jr and friends. The follow up to 6SS and the third book to feature the team. It's got action, mystery and a lot of history. Not the best dialog or character development, but a great read! "
