Publisher Description

Are you predator or prey? CLASSIFIED ADS: RESTAURANTS SANGUINI'S: A VERY RARE RESTAURANT IS HIRING A CHEF DE CUISINE. DINNERS ONLY. APPLY IN PERSON BETWEEN 2:00 AND 4:00 PM. Quincie Morris has never felt more alone. Her parents are dead, and her hybrid-werewolf first love is threatening to embark on a rite of passage that will separate them forever. Then, as she and her uncle are about to unveil their hot vampire-themed restaurant, a brutal murder leaves them scrambling for a chef. Can Quincie transform their new hire into a culinary Dark Lord before opening night? Can he wow the crowd in his fake fangs, cheap cape, and red contact lenses — or is there more to this earnest face than meets the eye? As human and preternatural forces clash, a deadly love triangle forms, and the line between predator and prey begins to blur. Who’s playing whom? And how long can Quincie play along before she loses everything? Tantalize marks Cynthia Leitich Smith’s delicious debut as a preeminent author of dark fantasy.

"Combines a restaurant and a very evil, creative vampire. The evil vampire creates the menu for the restaurant and puts a little vampire blood in some of the items, which creates a league of new vampires for his army. Very different and entertaining-I couldn't put it down, it was so much fun! "

" I'll be honest in saying this wasn't my favorite book, but I think it would be unfair to compare it to the Twilight saga. It's a different flavor entirely, and you just can't compare the two authors. It did get a little ridiculous toward the end, though, and I found the ending itself leaving too much to be desired... "

" I was reading along and the book was going smoothly and then about half way, it felt like a very quick change happened. All of a sudden the main character was different and it seems so sudden that I felt like I missed a chapter. The ending was also disappointing to me. He just leaves? Really? "

" Quincie is in love with her half were best friend and struggling to help run the restaurant that her parents left to her after they died. When Quincie and her uncle decide to reopen the restaurant with a vampire theme, Quincie is suddenly tangled in a web of mystery and murder. Although I really admired the main character and the quirky sense of humor and cute foodie twists in Tantalize, the overall story and plot left me feeling lukewarm. For the plot to have worked, I guess the love story needed some intense romance and angst. Unfortunately, the emotional side of the love story just never manifests enough to win me over. "

" This book was very good. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the author used a little too many fragmented sentences. But it was still a really, really good book! And I would recomend it! "

" I liked this book. It was the same "world" as Ms. Smith's "Blessed" and "Eternal" (which are part of the "Tantalize" series) but with different characters. I like this world she has created but with each book the characters are different. "

" Your uncle is acting strangely, you are caught up in trying to save your family's restaurant, and you're also still in school. Is it any wonder you haven't noticed shady dealings going on around you? You might discover the solution to the problem just in time. But what if you don't? "
