Publisher Description

For Mack McKinley and his team of GhostWalker killing machines, urban warfare is an art. But despite a hard-won knowledge of the San Francisco streets, Mack knows from experience that too many things can still go wrong. Danger was just another part of the game—and now he’s come face-to-face with a woman who can play just as tough. She’s Jaimie, a woman with a sapphire stare so potent it can destroy a man. Years ago she and Mack had a history—volatile, erotic, and electric. Then she vanished. Now she’s walked back into Mack’s life as a spy with more secrets than are good for her. Against all odds, she’s hooking up with Mack one more time to take on an enemy that could destroy them both, or bring them back together in a no-holds-barred adrenaline rush.

"This was a little different from the other GhostWalker books. There is hardly any mention of the other two teams and we are told that there is a fourth. The team in this story, Team Three, are more for urban assault than the other teams seem to be. This team is also a group that have formed a family of sorts before they were ever enhanced. We do get a lot more information on Peter Whitney and who might be protecting him and the elimination of one of the men we thought taken out in the first book. It was nice to see part of Whitney's little clutch of friends made smaller. I hope that there will be justice for the rest of this little group. There was a lot of information in this book, I just wish that we had seen some of the other groups. I want to know what has happened to Briony and the babies as well as Lily and her child. We also see a little more of Violet. If I was that woman I would just disappear because the other GhostWalker have it out for her big time. I am off to read the last book that has been published there is another due out in July."

Quotes

  • “The power as well as the complications of a close-knit group form the core of Feehan's latest adrenaline-producing GhostWalker novel. Second chances are rare, and as two former lovers face each other, they also face betrayal on an enormous scale. Consistent excellence is a Feehan hallmark, making her novels guaranteed winners.”

" I FINALLY finished reading this. I had really high hopes for this one because I've always enjoyed this series, but this one just wasn't as good as the others in my opinion. Maybe I didn't care for this one too much because of the blue mood I've been in due to all of the snow we've been having lately and I'm trapped in my home, but, I don't know, I just didn't really care for this one too much.
