"My 11-year old son has been glued to this series for the last month and so I finally decided to see what all the hype was about...and it is lots of fun! The series is DEFINITELY written for a specific audience of pre-teen/teen boys but does a great job of being highly engaging, exciting, suspenseful, and knowing just what "buttons" to push to appeal to this hard to reach age group. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and was surprised given my somewhat low expectations going into it. It was a quick, fun, exciting read!"
— Amy (4 out of 5 stars)
" This book was very suspenseful. Great, quick read, though it is short and a little young. It was full of action, and twists. "
— Grant, 2/14/2014" I loved the suspension of this book. but horowtiz wrote it in a style that would fit the context of younger readers. in turn his style of language was a little chalky. "
— Robert, 2/12/2014" In my opinion, it started the Alex Rider series quite well even though it's totally not my favorite book in the series. "
— Allison, 1/28/2014" very thrilling and exciting!!!!! "
— Brad, 1/23/2014" Not much in the way of existential angst, but that's unsurprising given the tween target market. otherwise it's above standard junior spy fare. "
— Nick, 1/21/2014" Everyone loves a good spy story. Anthony freshened uo the entire genre with the Alex Rider series. "
— Millie, 1/16/2014" great boy action adventure book/series! "
— Shelley, 1/15/2014" i like di "
— Nathan, 1/12/2014" Not really my cup of tea. Very much like Cherub (or Cherub is very much like Stormbreaker). I can see how it'd be a great book for boys. "

— Juan, 8/20/2012" kept having to remind myself that this was supposed to be a "kids" book. has a lot of scenes, etc that seem more suited for an adult character. overall, a good read. "
— Kathleen, 8/14/2012" I liked the adventure and the action all through out the book. The end was interesting for me. It can confuse you so read the second one point blank to find out what happens next.I recommend this book to people that like action and has passions it will take a while to finish the series. "
— Skylar, 5/7/2012" Love the book. All there is to say. "
— Wyatt, 5/2/2012" It is the best book "
— Jordan, 4/9/2012" I read this years ago as one of my friends had recommended it to me, I felt it was slow at times and often felt like james bond for kids (i was at the time) I haven't seen the film so my view on the franchise hasn't been skewed "
— Alexander, 2/19/2012" Three stars makes it look not good but it just means i liked it but didn't really like it. So it was good but just a little, a don't know the word, something that isn't good. "
— Megan, 1/9/2012" Alex Rider os like a teenage James Bond. This was a good book and I especially liked how he figured out what really happened to his uncle. I also enjoyed the stunts he pulled throuhgout the book as well as some of the gadgets hr gets. Overall an entertaining story. "
