Single mom Lizabeth Kane isn't exactly carpenter material -- she's never picked up a hammer in her life. But she desperately needs the construction job that builder Matt Hallahan is offering. And even though he knows trouble is ahead, Matt can't refuse Lizbeth's irresistible smile.
Matt Hallahan isn't exactly relationship material -- he has always been too busy working on other people's houses to make a home of his own. And even though she knows better, Lizabeth can't stop thinking about the rugged carpenter.
Is the relationship Matt and Lizabeth are building solid -- or more like a house of cards?

"There or 8 or 9 former Loveswept books that Evanovich wrote before the by the number series. This one is definitely more like the Stephanie Plum series. Very funny and I thought this would be what Stephanie would be like if she had 2 kids when she divorced her hubby."

" I prefer her Stephanie Plum novels, which my quilting friends got me hooked on in the first place. In between those releases, I like to read her other books for a quick escape with some warm fuzzies and humor. "

— Cindy, 1/17/2014" Very cute book - funny and easy to read. Definately kept my attention. "
— Aimee, 1/6/2014" Single Mom, Lisabeth Kane, was not exactly construction worker material; however, she needed a job since divorcig her snobby philanderer. She frankly was not interested in men but then she meets Matt and man oh man it is one hayhem after another. "
— Pat, 1/5/2014" Not one of her best - but still a fun pick up read. "
— B., 12/22/2013" Cute romance. "
— Elisa, 12/18/2013" Parts of this book had me laughing out loud. I loved Aunt Elsie's driving style. Ferguson definitely needs obedience school. Not sure what I'm talking about pick up and read the book. "

— Shelley, 11/7/2013" Quick read. Janet Evanovich books always make me laugh out loud at some point, but they are all pretty boiler plate character wise. "
— Janet, 9/21/2013" Another cute fast read from Janet. I like this story and only wish that if I tried to work as a carpenter that I could find myself a man like Matt. "
— Sara, 6/18/2013" This was a mildly entertaining book. Similar characters as in other Evanovich books. The biggest problem for me was the unrealistic speed at which the main character's relationship progressed. "
— Holly, 4/25/2013" It's hard to say different things about these old romance novels of hers, because they are different situations that end up all the same way. This was cute nonetheless. "
— Mickey, 4/16/2013" Real quick read, somewhat silly, my mother's day guilty pleasure. "
— Vanessa, 1/13/2013" Basic quick read. Too much like the Plum series. Laugh out loud funny though. "
— Carla, 9/23/2012" Very far-fetched, but still a good read. "
— Debbie, 8/26/2012" Cute story, and then I realized it sounded familiar, and then I realized I had read it before. That's the trouble with Janet's stuff, it's always familiar, but the comedy is different. Similar characters gives you a deja vu feeling though. Good fluff though. "
— Christa, 7/20/2012" Another fun, cute Evanovich story with quirky characters. A nice, quick, and easy read. "
— Pam, 2/22/2012" I have to admit first that I do enjoy Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series on occasion. It is light fast reading. But this is a total girly girl mushy non-guy bunch of drival that I suppose has its place, someplace. No more of this sort of thing for me this year... "
— Donald, 1/8/2012" was ok not as goood as her other work. "
— John, 8/5/2011" Cute romance novel, very quick read. "

— Brittany, 7/17/2011" Nice way to wrap up '09 for me. Entertainment until the library's #2 in Janet's "Plum Series" comes off the hold shelf for me. "
— Arica, 6/15/2011" Evanovich does romance - good book, quirky characters, not as much suspense and action as the Plum series but definitely entertaining. "
— Michele, 5/29/2011" Cute story as expected. Fun and light.

I still did not care for the narrator. "
— Shannon, 5/9/2011" I had a job deciding what I thought of this storey , wasn't my usual type of thing , mildly humerous, but not the gripping storey I normally listen to. It was only 4 cd's so decided to hear it out. "
— Frances, 3/31/2011" Ok I only read t his because my nook died in Mexico :( And this is all I had in one of my bags. Too fluffy for me! "
